I figured we would need an All in one topic for Mass Effect, Hopefully one will be stickied soon. The 360 forum is the only one without a sticky game! So I will get it started by talking about one of the most shocking parts of mass effect.

Spoiler
Choosing Between Ashley and Kaiden. I mean holy shit, nothing prepared you for that! I had to pause for 10 minutes thinking about it, I so totally couldnt have made that choice in Real Time. In the End I was like, Fuck you ashley, racist pig >D, and chose Carth over her.

What points in the game really stood apart from the rest for you? Also What do you hope for in Mass Effect 2?

Carth? I believe you mean Kaiden, unless they crossed over KotoR with Mass Effect when I wasn't looking...

Anyways
Spoiler
Definitely the fact that you can kill one of your party members. I easily persuaded my way out of it because I did the quest. Really all of Virmire was fantastic, especially the Salarian Commandos.

Also, we're getting a Salarian Scientist as a possible party member in ME 2, and he has been described by the dev's as "The Clint Eastwood of scientists." I'm looking forward to it a lot.

I was just making the comparison that Carth basically equals Kaiden.

Ah, I thought it was just a typo.

I also think this is a pretty good idea, it would be nice to have 1 main topic about everything Mass Effect related instead of a new one about everything.

There's one thing that bothered me on the game now, after using the item the consort gave you.

Spoiler
Alright so the Prometheans were studying stone age or ice age human life, from what you read in the section after using the item. Well the reapers came and destroyed all organic life, and tracked and killed all species. Why the hell werent the humans targeted? Unless the reapers wanted them to be more advanced, I cant see why they didnt target them.

They pretty much tell you why :nyor:

They let primitve life build up using their tech. Then when they have reached a certain level the Reapers come and omnomnom the galaxy of advanced life. Leaving the primitive races to build up their species using the Reapers tech and rinse, lather, and repeat.

Mass Effect is easily one of my favorite games ever
Here's a couple of my reasons.

Spoiler
Mainly for the great story, the articfact that shows that the Prometheans studied us when we were primitive was really cool. Just a shame there was no cutscene. The choice between Kaiden and Ashley wasn't that hard, I didn't want to choose but I went with Ashley because I never really connected with Kaiden's character, after that mission I spent the conversation discussing it feeling guilty only to be greeted with the choice of Ashley and Liara as my fuck buddy. My reaction "ARE YOU SERIOUS, WHY NOW!?

But yeah it's an amazing game and pumped for the sequel. :-D

Mass Effect is a great game

Spoiler
But the choise between Kaidan and Ashley was not a choise at all. That Ashley chick was a real pain in the balls. All she would do is bitch and whine.

I think I'm gonna pick it up again someday just to do all the side missions I missed.

A little bit into the game, I realized that Kaiden's voice was sounded familiar. After a trip to Wikipedia I find that he is voiced by Raphael Sbarge who also voice Carth Onasi. This fact alone kept me from killing off Kaiden instead of Ashley. That, and my Shepard was a Soldier, so I had no need for her.

I was able to complete my first playthrough a bit ago. I picked the Adept class and I was thinking of playing as an evil women Sheppard. I was also thinking of doing it on Veteran difficulty but I though Normal was a bit easy so would Veteran give me a nice challenge?

Fuck that, Ashley is great I never used Kaiden he sucked. I really went for firepower and armor over all the other special abilities.

Has anyone played a female character all the way through, if so question...

Spoiler
Do chicks get a sex scene too? If so whose bones do you jump?

Choice of Liara or Kaiden if you're a chick from what I've heard.

Frankly I was glad to get rid of Ashley. My main team was Liara and Tali. Their special abilities are really useful. I finished the game as an Engineer using only a pistol. Fire power isn't needed if you have a good team.

Unless your main focus is firepower, then you have a bad ass team.

I have. Adept class. With Shepard/Kaiden romance sub plot. You can do it with the Asari chick too. Because her race has no gender apparently, and can multiply with any gender of any race through some mind thing. "Embrace Eternity"

I didn't really like playing a Female to be honest. I think it was her voice that threw me off.

I beat Mass Effect like, two weeks ago. I don't know why I didn't play it sooner! It was so awesome.

My only complaint I have is the Mako. It handled like crap. Probably to compensate from its ability to climb an 80 degree slope.

Then you'll be happy to know that we don't even have the MAKO in this one. We have something, but it's different than the MAKO, and they've tuned the controls.

I'm just now playing it (soldier), and I'm really liking it.

Spoiler
In term of letting who die, I chose Kaiden, I never used him so I let him die without hesitation.

Don't forget to pick up both DLC for Mass Effect this week. As it's the deal of the week although I heard that Pinnacle Station was not worth it. Both DLC is set at 240 a piece reduced from 400. To those that bought Pinnacle Station is it worth it?
