Guess the Anime from the Screenshot

So, there's one of these for movies and for games, so let's do it for Anime. Also, as a BONUS rule, I'd like everyone to give a very brief explanation about the anime after they guess what it is, whether you're right or wrong. That way this topic can be used as a semi-learning tool for folks interested in other anime.

Alright people, I'm sure most of you know how to play this game, but just to make sure we all understand, I'll go over the ground rules.

A person posts a screenshot from a movie (It can be any movie ever made, you can be as obscure as you want)
The other users try and guess what movie that screenshot is from.
Then if somebody guesses correctly, they get to post a screenshot, and so on.
Do not post another screenshot until you have been told, by the original poster, that you are correct. I don't care how certain you are.

I like this kind of guessing game but unfortunately I don't know anything about anime :cry:

At least I can learn a bit about it when people will find the right answer... right right?

Perhaps we can make this Guess the Anime and have a separate guess the comic thread.

Sure sure, I'd assume Guess the Comic would be harder in terms of 'obscure' comics than it would be for normal comics, if need be there can be a separate thread, as long as it has the 'bonus' rule. I'd expect a 'games' sub-forum soon though with the rate we're doing this.

well i dont have a clue really i just right clicked the picture and saw it was called akira

and found a japanese anime film akira lol

It's not Akira, he's just gotten smart and named the pictures a different anime to keep you on yer toes.

My guess would be uh, Vampire Hunter D?

Very close, if I remember correctly some of the folks who worked on Perfect Blue worked on this.

Paranoia Agent is equally close, since it has the same manner of multi-perspective story telling. I will drop a hint later on tonight if nobody has guessed it yet.

HINT: The person who worked on it WASN'T Satoshi-kon.
