If you use webchat, do NOT use Mibbit. Many members have been "G-Lined" when trying to connect using it. This means temporarily banned from the Quakenet Network. This is a ban that lasts for an indescriminent amount of time.
Quakenet has their own officially supported webclient,
USE IT INSTEAD.

More detailed information below:
We've had this channel open for awhile, now, but we waited to advertise it for varying reasons. But, now since the user base is busting at its seems, well it's time to get people coming and going regularly.
Information:
Network: Quakenet (use any of their servers)
Server: irc.quakenet.org (you don't have to use this, but if you don't feel like looking another server up, here's one)
Channel: #TheGameHeroes
For the people who are unfamiliar with IRC:
IRC, like instant messengers, requires a client (thing you open to talk). Unlike instant messengers, there are hundreds of clients to choose from.
The differences between IRC and IMs is, first, IRC doesn't require any sort of user account, so you need to register nothing. You can name yourself whatever you like (as long as it isn't already in use). The channels (chat rooms) are held on a network (spanning many servers), so the room doesn't disappear when everyone leaves (currently we have a bot in there, so the channel will not go away any time soon). IRC also allows you to create a command hierarchy, so there are ops just like there are forum moderators (these have NOT been filled yet).
Here's some clients you can use to connect:
Web:
Mibbit (It is recommended that you use the WebChat Quakenet Client and NOT Mibbit)
OR
http://webchat.quakenet.org/I just found this, it's a pretty seamless web interface. Here's what you need to fill in once you click the link:
Server: QuakeNET
Channel: #TheGameHeroes
Nickname: The Name You Want To Use
Press connect. This also doesn't require you to download a java applet. Careful in your name choice, if you get throttled errors, then your name is probably too long.
Windows:
mIRCIt's the most popular IRC client on the Windows platform ... look at their site for connection help, but it should be pretty straight forward.
TrillianThis is actually an IM client that has protocols, it can use MSN, AIM, Yahoo, ICQ, and IRC. It requires you to make a profile per connection type. Just use the information listed at the top. The IRC window is treated like any other IM window.
Mac:
This is a list of clients, as I don't have a Mac, I can't suggest one over another.
Firefox:
ChatzillaYou can either join manually:
(type this in chatzilla)
/connect irc.quakenet.org
(then)
/join #thegameheroes
OR
Click this link:
Join The Game Heroes Channel on QuakeNetPost if you have any troubles.
UPDATERaster Ricardo has taken a few moments to create a video tutorial if anyone is having trouble, you can check it out
here.
UPDATEI've found the direct link path for mibbit. Now all you need to do to get to the chat using mibbit (the browser based irc chat site) is click
