Oh yes. Also people who sit on equipment and just start watching tv. You have a tv at home, this isn't break time.

But by far the worst offender was a woman who was on the leg press doing a minimal amount of weight (10 lbs or something pathetic) and was reading a book for like 20+ mins. Get serious about working out or get off the machine.

Oh I know those people... I hate those people. Even ones that read on the treadmill, bike etc. I'm sorry if you're not sweating, wheezing or in some sort of pain you're not working out correctly.

I think I'm on the verge of getting a migraine... I don't get them often, maybe once every 5-10 years but when I have one... ugh... I'm out of commission.

While I was in bed in pain due to my migraine we got a call around 10pm last night. My grandmother, who hasn't been feeling well the last few weeks, was sent to the hospital for gallbladder surgery. My girlfriend talked to my mom as I was in bed not feeling well but I haven't heard any news yet on her situation and if it's cancerous. Not fun as I lost my grandfather on my other side of the family in March... guess I should be thankful to have had my grandparents with me for so long but looks like I'm at that age where I'm starting to see them pass on...

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Big Brother is the biggest pile of trash on tv. If I didn't have my PC to play games on I'd go insane from my girlfriend watching that garbage...

Friends who turn their cell phone off at 7pm then get irritated when I call them at work during the day.

Political opinion phone calls. I got like twelve of these today, and one of them had the nerve to ask me to donate money to the republican campaign, and they said a "small" fifty dollar donation will be fine.

Fuck you republicans, do the world a favour, get into a plane, fly it, and open the side door, and find out for Romney why you can't open windows or doors on a plane. I certainly think Repubs get voted in due to a lack of oxygen in their brains anyway.

When some jackass thinks it's funny to start killing fellow players in L4D or L4D2. Even worse when he has a jackass friend who helps him.

Political TV ads.

I saw this one, it wasn't supporting any candidate/party it was just nothing but hating on Obama. Anyone who decides on their candidate of choice based on those ads are ignorant fools.

RANT INCOMING!:

Ok, so I've learned over the years that I need to weed out people in my life that just drive me insane with stupid life choices. A year ago, I had a huge falling out that was a long time in the making with one of my best friends from high school.

I'll explain the situation: I won't deny the guy had a hard life that I won't get into, but for awhile in high school he was pretty much homeless and suicidal. Me and two other friends took turns having him live in our family's homes so he had somewhere to sleep, eat and someone to watch over him in his not so good state. I lost a relationship in high school because I was too busy trying to concentrate on getting this friend back on his feet.

He eventually got this shit together, but was forced to move out to the middle of nowhere with his family (another long story I won't get into), and dropped out of high school. He eventually moved back to the city, went from one medial job to another while the rest of us were in college. He was happy working his jobs in fast food, movie theaters etc., but if he was happy then whatever.

The first straw that started people turning on him was when he was in a friends wedding party, one of the friends that helped look after him and gave him a roof to live under in high school. He didn't show to any wedding function, not even the bachelor party, and he was a giant question mark on whether he'd even show to the wedding, but he did. The friend that got married was so pissed at his childish stupidity that he cut him out of his life after his wedding. I was pissed too, but when I came home I at least tried a few times to reach out to him to hang out and play videogames or something. I think I hung out with him once since the wedding.

I had him on facebook and was getting sick and tired of reading about him a) bitching about his job working at a college cafeteria b) complaining about how bad his life is and c) reading his crap that looked like something a 15 year old wrote. The guy's a year older than me!

He posted something stupid on facebook, I can't remember what and I made a sarcastic comment (which I'm known to do... pretty much all the time). He sent me this long message calling me an asshole saying I've changed from the fun/silly guy in high school into a sarcastic dick. I simply replied that I am the same person, I've just grown up which he clearly hadn't done. Ditching his friends, the SAME friends that were there for him during bad times, gave him a place to crash and food to eat so he can hang out with his "new and cooler" late teen-early 20s friends. He was 30! I went on saying that if he's unhappy with work and his life to stop complaining like a 15 year old and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Go back, get your high school diploma, more jobs will open up. Then if you want go to college for something you love! Basically stop living like your in high school and grow the fuck up before you lose all the friends you had for teeny bobbers of the moment.

He then proceeded to say he has grown up and matured (yeah right) and that we turned out backs on him, that we snub our noses at him blah blah blah and then proceeded to delete me from facebook. I was fine with that, he just burnt another bridge with another friend which means he really had one left from high school.

This past weekend I got together with a friend, the third guy who looked after this guy during high school, and for some reason we started talking about him again. The friend I was having a beer with, the last guy to be his friend from way back said he's now officially done with him too as he still continues to not want to grow up. His latest plan is to be a "youtube star videogame reviewer", you know like millions of other people on the internet. Still talks and acts like he's 15, still complain about everything and still hangs out with late-teenage fools with the same maturity level as him.

I checked out his youtube page a shook my head. I don't know why this bothers me. The guy's out of my life. It just feels like a waste seeing someone stuck in such a immature and silly mindset. He never grew up and one day, when he's 50 it's going to hit him and hit him hard... he wasted his life and friendships, people that did truly care about him for stupid pointless retarded shit.

Sorry, been awhile since I've had a gear-grinding rant, and a lot of this post as probably a jumbled mess but it's just something that's bothered me the last few days.

That's rough.

It's really sad to watch someone make bad decision after bad decision, and even worse when they complain about things that are a result of said decisions, like life has just been so unfair. Crap happens to everyone, and I dare say every person hits a point in their adult life where they kind of stop and look around and ask themselves what in the world they are doing. The difference is most people pull it back together and get over it, but some like your friend seem to just never get it right.

It's also sad to watch someone refuse to grow up. Which if I"m being totally honest, it's something I struggled with (not nearly to the degree your friend has). I'm in my mid 30s now and even though I still look like a 20 something (so I'm told at least), the past few years it's really hit me I'm as old as I am. And for the most part, I'm fine with it. Being in my 30s used to freak me out, then I got here and realized I got a lot of life left (well hopefully). I do know a few people who are in their 30s now and my goodness they still act like teenagers. Again I don't judge and I think we all have things we like that can be considered somewhat childish, but seeing 30 something go crazy over bands, tattoos, freakin books and movies like Harry Potter and Twilight, well...I just don't get it. Again I have no problem liking them, but acting like a giddy teenager over it.....wow grow the freak up.

Anyway I know it's not quite the same as your friend, but I definitely understand the frustration with someone not growing up. It always made me laugh that people try to hang on to their high school selves, because honestly high school sucked. There's no way I'd trade myself now to go back to my 17 year old self.

Thanks RE.

I can say that I'm not the most mature person out there. Hell, you could consider gaming to be childish, but it's a vice that I enjoy, it doesn't hurt anyone so whatever.

What I do understand is responsibility, actions have reactions and loyalty. I've been able to hold onto close friends of mine for 20+ years, also friends I know from college who I may see once or twice a year back make an effort to keep in contact with. People that are important in my life I try and keep close and on the most part I do. I've been very lucky in that aspect that even all our significant others get along and are all very close. But to watch someone who considered me not only their best friend but their brother back in high school make stupid decision after stupid decision, pushing the friends away that gave up a lot to help him through a very dark time just... aggravates me. It makes me feel like it was all just a giant waste. And one day it'll hit him that his life is wasted on his stupid childish shit... and I fear the worst of that outcome knowing his mental health history. But whatever, he cut me out of his life for being brutally honest so it's really not my concern anymore.

I totally understand about the lack of taking responsibility.

I had to cut off a friend from kindergarten about a decade ago. I had known him my whole life almost, and in the span of a year he went from being my closest friend to someone I didn't even know anymore. I won't go into details about what he did, let's just say it would make a great Jerry Springer episode, but the overall problem was he turned out to basically be a pathological liar. And after his lies were exposed, he first went through the "I found God" route. Which BTW, I have no issue with people who do that, I'm rather religious myself, but actually DO it, don't use it as some shield or cover to try and make your problems go away or excuse your behavior.

Anyway after he supposedly changed, and I actually pressed him on said changes, he would get angry and start making excuses. It was then I realized he hadn't changed at all, this was just another way to get out of trouble. So I just cut him off. This was before Facebook/Twitter/, heck even MySpace, but it was the golden age of AOL Instant Messenger, so the first thing I did was block him on that. I lived a few hours away so there wasn't a lot of worry I'd run into him, but he did live in my hometown so for a while when I"d go back to visit my parents, I'd actually avoid going anywhere else in town for fear I'd run into him.

Looking back it was probably the hardest thing I've ever had to do, and I'd be lying if I said there weren't days I still think about contacting him. But I know I can't. I have no idea how he's doing now, I hope he finally got right and is living a good life, but all I can say is that's on him.
