So, they bring back a prothean... and make him Jamaican? Who thought making the possibly last member of an ancient race a stereotype was a good idea?

That's an African accent, like Nigerian or something like that. It's definitely not Jamaican though.

I pre-ordered on amazon...since I have prime and all....free launch day shipping, that rifle...and $10 amazon credits, pretty dope deal. It's usually at my doorstep 6:30am of launch day too.

I'm so psyched about this game though...I wish that character unlocking was a tad easier though.

I have an odd question for those have played the demo and or the game...

is this game as dark as mass effect 2? ME2 for some reason on my TV is really really dark no matter how i change the settings everything is very black and characters lose definition and its just really bad looking.

does anyone know if ME3 is the same as 2 or did they change this? if its still really dark I may have to hook my xbox up to my computer monitor.

Picked up my copy before going to work, but fuck am I pissed off. I originally preordered the regular edition way back in December 2010. When I was picking up my copy of Dragon Age 2 around this time last year I was talking to a clerk at the EB I preordered Mass Effect 3 at and he talked me into getting the collector's edition. I had the normal edition paid off and said he put me in as the first person in the system for the CE and i just had to pay the difference. Well what happens when I go to pick up my game today? Yeah, the tool forgot to put me down for the CE so I just got the normal game. I have no proof that I had it preordered, just my word against this workers so I'm boned. Now I'm searching the city to find a copy of the CE which is proving impossible... My last hope is the HMV at the mall near where I work but after today I'm never going back to that EB games again.

Going to wait for the Game of the Year Edition. I would love to buy it, but unfortunately, there is this thing called "getting your drivers licence" and "rent" that is a bit more important than Mass Effect 3.

Actually, depending on my tax return, I just might pick it up.

loving it so far with just a few small annoyances, with my main dislike being the fact you can no longer put your gun away between firefights in combat levels which IMO makes it a bit more cumbersome to move around the levels, it just seems like a really weird omission, almost like an oversight.

either way so far its pretty damn awesome.

Honestly, from a huge Collector's Edition fanboy like myself... you're better off without it. Just pay the 10 dollars for the DLC. All the out of game stuff is relatively useless/pointless. A dumb little patch, a half-assed little artbook, a digital soundtrack (just torrent it), and a tiny version of a comic book that is just an advertisement for a Trade Paperback coming out soon and was already fully released in single issues a few months back (remember that thing I told you about on Facebook with Aria T'Loak?)

In-Game stuff, I guess the alternate costumes are cool. I can't really tell what's part of the CE and what's standard. So far all my characters have had 4 costumes to choose from, which is neat, not sure how many the CE added. The Armor and Weapons are kind of whatevs. The armor is some generic looking N7 Armor crap you can't customize the colors or anything at all with... just like ME2's Preset bullshit (which I hated.) Dog is whatever, and the Hoodie looks alright I guess, but I prefer to wear my Military outfit.

Long story short, you're really not missing out on ANYTHING except a nice steelcase for your game, and some DLC you can just buy later.

I spent about 2-3 hours in Multiplayer. It's a total blast if you can find a competent group. I was in a few groups where it was just bad team composition and we got wiped instantly. It's tricky business, but a ton of fun. They really built the mode around dumb luck of unlocking things though, and really are trying to encourage the "microtransaction" concept since practically EVERYTHING is locked down beyond Humans to play as, and even if you unlock other classes and what not, you can't customize their looks at all without having first unlocked that randomly as well. Irksome.

Thanks Link, that actually made me feel better about the dumb situation I'm in... I still want to smack the moron kid who took my CE pre order though.

Ok, going to dive into ME3 today. Not liking what I'm hearing about the multiplayer being more catered towards taking more money out of our wallets seeing as how I'm very anti micro-transaction. I didn't really expect to play much multiplayer but it's still a piss off that people are willing to feed more money into EA for stupid weapons and races for a game mode... I really don't understand why people spend real money on that crap.
