Asking around this week and I have about 6 or 7 people interested right now, and I can hound a few more from last year. Only problem is 3 or 4 of them want to do a money pool so I may make a seperate one to accomodate them unless people are ok with maybe dropping $10 each into the pool.

You may have to as it can be difficult to have people play in a cash league who haven't done it.

I am down, I have been just waiting for some commitment to ensure people are interested, I do like having a large active league.

Ok well right now I think I have 8 for sure. My girlfriend wants into the league but she's really wants it to be a paid pool. Other people I talked to don't care either way. I'm going to harrass another 5 or 6 people to see if they want in but a few people that played last year from my end can't join due to work (one's in Pakinstan, the other's in Northern Ontario and hard to reach and the others I haven't had contact with since the last pool ended).

So let me know what you guys think. Money pool or not? Maybe instead we can have some sort of prize... I don't know what though...

EDIT: I think I'm up to 9 people confirmed now.

Sorry for the double post but I just had an idea:

Instead of a paid-pool why doesn't everyone pitch in $5-$10 and I'll go buy gift certificates for different stores (example would be Best Buy or Future shop) and we'll have them set up as prizes for first, second and third place at the end of the playoffs? I will mail out the prizes to the winners.

Does that sound alright?

That's a hell of an idea. I would throw in $10 for that.

Thanks! I have them every once and awhile!

So I'll pass along the idea to everyone else I have on my list but I don't mind spearheading the prizes. This way first place doesn't have to get everything, we don't have to worry about Yahoo Sports betting rules.

Sevens I'm going to swing by Best Buy after work and see if their gift certificates can be used in the US as well if not we can think of something specifically for you. Maybe a certificate to Amazon.com or something.

EDIT: Up to 11 people, that includes myself, so I'm going to stop asking people now. Going to see how they all feel about the gift certificate idea and go from there.

I use Amazon all the time, so if I finish top three or whatever, that would be perfect.

Perfect! MrMulligan how are your numbers? And how about the live draft? Was thinking maybe this Sunday night if that works with people. My girlfriend and one of my buddy's that will be in the pool will both be at my place so all three of us can be online for the draft at the same time.

Does Sunday night work with everyone? Canuck you still in for the pool?

Well if you use online banking there should be an option for interact email money transfer. Just fire it over to ablack7@gmail.com

Now I haven't heard from mrmulligan so... yeah I can try and set up the hockey pool later today but I've got company coming from out of town and staying the night so I've been cleaning/getting things ready. One of the guys staying over is in the hockey pool so I can still run it but... it will be short notice. You ok with still doing it tonight or does tomorrow or Tuesday work better for you?

I use online banking, but there's no option for Interact. I think that might just be for Canadian banks. I was kind of hoping you would have Paypal or something.

If you need another day or two to set it up, that's fine. I'm definitely available tomorrow, and I might be able to squeeze it in on Tuesday, depending on the time.

Yahoo won't let me set it up for tonight for some reason... we'll have the draft later this week. Stay tuned.

Ok set up the Live Draft for 10:30pm EST

Here's the info:
League ID#: 71950
League Name: Supreme Pool of Awesomeness
Password: 4321

Most of the settings are the same from last year but I changed the goalie points a bit (removed points for saves) and added points for faceoff wins and hits:

Forwards/Defensemen Stat Categories: Goals (G), Assists (A), Plus/Minus (+/-), Penalty Minutes (PIM), Powerplay Goals (PPG), Powerplay Points (PPP), Shorthanded Goals (SHG), Shorthanded Points (SHP), Game-Winning Goals (GWG), Shots on Goal (SOG), Faceoffs Won (FW), Hits (HIT)

Goaltenders Stat Categories: Wins (W), Goals Against Average (GAA), Save Percentage (SV%), Shutouts (SHO)

We're sitting at 12 or 13 now so if any of you guys know people who would want to join please let me know!

As for paypal that would work too. My paypal email is phantom_1000@yahoo.com

Hey Canuck, if you want to play but don't want to pitch in for the prizes that's fine. You just won't be eligible. I'm scrambling to make sure I have numbers. Let me know if you want in and sign up!
