I use it because it's simple and I don't have to download anything, so go ahead and let out your "Your problem is that you're using it instead of [insert shitty program you cum over]."

Anyway... It won't recognize MP3 files anymore. It'll recognize WAV files and I guess WMA, but I really don't want to have to convert music since I already have to convert video files in order to edit them.

I've restarted my computer twice. I did a system restore. Nothing I've tried has worked. What do I need to do?

I had the same problem and I tried everything to get it to work and I didnt. So I got Adobe Premier Pro and even though I kinda dont know how to use it, it works fine.

I searched online and couldnt find anything that was helpful or useful to fix it either. There are more people with the same problem and there doenst seem to be a solution that I could find.

Thanks for trying, man. I guess I'll just use WAV files until that eventually stops.

I'm gonna get a new computer sooner or later, anyway. I'll probably get a Mac because Windows really gargles balls now.

What exactly are you trying to use WMM for? Segmenting clips? Compressing video? I might be able to help with what I know about the program, but I want to get an idea of what you're trying to do.

When I'm making a video, I can't get it to recognize MP3 files in the audio/music layer. You can open the file, sure, but it won't play the sounds.

It will recognize WAV format, though.

I'm only trying to add music to a clip, really.

Do you have the latest version of Movie Maker? I think they released 2.0 not too long ago, which fixed a bunch of problems. If so... then it's because the program isn't really that good. I use it at work sometimes to make sample videos, but that's because we're really cheap here. If you don't have 2.0 download it from the Microsoft website or download.com and see if that fixes the issue.

I have Audacity already. I can use it to convert to WAV files and I can pre-trim audio there. I just didn't want to have to do an extra step. I'll probably get WMM 2.0 eventually, but I'll probably get a new computer soon.

Thanks for the help, Uncle Blac... er... Mr. Black.
