Quit peddling your elitist Japanophile bullshit. Ever watch a Japanese game show? Yea, that knocked you down a peg. But for realsies, sales have dropped for the Wii. The casual gamers maybe excited but the core gamers are what makes the market. For a short term investment it's a good idea but in the long run sales are going to dwindle. Nintendo is about gimmicks plain and simple.

There's also the whole thing with little massive hits on the Wii recently to drive a spike in sales. When Skyward Sword hits, you can bet sales will rise a bit.
The core market is still there and will most likely come back for the WiiU if they left. Nintendo isn't stupid, they see that the main fanbase is weakening and that the other companies are coping everything they've started hoping to steal away some of this new market. Announcing the WiiU right now was brilliant, it gets back the Nintendo fanbase, which is incredibly loyal, and manages to interests a few new fans they've made. This works great in the long term.
The freak out over stock right now is a knee jerk reaction, I see it little more than a bunch of suits not understanding the thought process here.
