I agree with fighters being like counting cards but this is exactly why I would argue they do not take skill. Experience =/= skill. If it did, then athletes who have been playing their sport the longest would always be the best. That isn't the case because there is an element of skill involved in sports. Oftentimes you see rookies come right into a league and dominant. (e.g. Lebron James, Alexander Ovechkin, etc).

Well your example is pitting video-games against an intensely physical activity like basketball. The physical ability it takes to play Basket ball well, is far different than what it takes to play a video game. The extent of your physical ability in a Video game, like a fighter, is pushing buttons and moving a joystick. Just like you're example, you take a guy who's just played fighters for a while and throw him up against someone like Daigo, or one of the other famous Fighters from a world tournament, and he'd have a tough time. Both because he might not retain all the information about the game that someone like Daigo or Justin Wong have worked to retain and the dexterity both of them have could be superior.
Counting cards is not like a fighing game. Dumbest thing I've heard in a while. . . . well. . . I work in IT, so it's the dumbest thing I've heard today.. Edit: Nevermind, just got a call from a secretary.. .it's now the 2nd dumbest thing.
