OH MY GOD A MINECRAFT OBSESSION COMIC! HOW ORIGINAL!

Wow....I just became Darkseid for a second.

True. It is. But one can't deny CP's talent in this strip.

But in all honesty...I have not come across a Minecraft Obsession comic before. So for CP and I, we felt we were being somewhat original at least with how we did it, lol.

Aww...I didn't mean to hurt you.

Also, yeah it's good. CP does have an interesting style, and this comic really shows it.

Being completely honest, it's the really crazy art that makes this comic. Some of the jokes tend to fall flat or feel like they've been done before, but the visual puns make up for it pretty well. It might be a good idea to get a few people to write for this with different styles, like a rotating schedule. That should prevent the comic from getting stale from just one comedic style.

It just so happens that Link and Mongo have both written one and one of those will be coming out this Wednesday.

Weren't you are that Beeslo plays the role of the straight man in our comedic trio? :rabbid:

Although, I think a lot of the jokes have more comedic effect based off knowledge of the IRL characters they reflect. So if you weren't aware Beeslo did have a recent Minecraft obsession, and is like 2 months or so behind on his comic reading, then it's not as funny (at least in my opinion.) The next couple of comics should hopefully be less "in-joke" related.

As we've stated on the show we're open to fan submission jokes/plots. Send 'em our way via PMs and we'll do our best to make them happen.

The writing is so much more than just the dialogue. The visual jokes are often a big part of the scripts.

As for the dialogue itself, I think allot of it has been really funny so far. For instance both the JMS and Pokemon strips have some great lines. Stuff like "Incredibly Illegal" and "I am the creator of all that you read". That's gold.

Something else that I think may be effecting our comics is that we don't do these on the fly, there are usually 3 - 4 comics in the "bank" waiting to be published, so our joke might be original when we write it, and then quickly be done to death by every other web comic out there. Usually if it's a commentary on some news announcement or whatever.

If that ever happens though I think we'll start giving those jokes priority status to be posted, so as to prevent them from becoming stale before release. :)

The Minecraft one was given to me yesterday by CP....you can't get any more off the presses as that.

For a comic that is just starting out, and was done on a whim of "hey, I want to do a webcomic about YIBR, lets get some Ideas rolling." it's doing great.

This comic is still new, and the people involved are still getting into a good groove. I like reading them, and the art is fantastic. It'll probably get better and better as all who are involved get more experience with it. It's still young.

Personally, I'm going to give it waaaaay more than 10 issues in before I start to critique the hell out of the thing and try to tell you to make changes.

So, Beeslo pantless playing in the front yard. Mongo nude covered in fruit.
Someone either REALLY likes YIBR...or Link's a big ole prude :teehee: .

For reals though, fun stuff as always!

Technically, it started off as "I wanna do webcomics, what should I do?" I was the one that suggested YIBR, and did the writing for the first two.

But yeah, it's great to see it become a growing success, even if it's in doses

HEY REMEMBER WHEN BLISTERED THUMBS WAS NEW

:3

In all seriousness, there's nothing wrong with criticism, it helps people improve, even when starting out. It's been long enough for some criticism now, nothing serious but observations.

I see your point. But, I have to say, sometimes it's good to just let the Creators create.

The one thing I dislike a lot about the internet, is that it gives everyone a "voice," in relation to reviews, or critiques. Seems like everyone now thinks that they need to criticise things. I'm sure the creators value the opinions of their fans and followers but sometimes I'm sure they think, "Look, this is my project, if you have a list of things you want changed, then you don't want MY stuff anymore, you want your own. Go make it yourself then." (this is just in general, not refering to the YIBR crew or necessarily this thread/forum.)

Anyway, sorry, that got way off topic, as no one's really taking it that far. Critisisms can be a good thing, but that doesn't mean all critisisms are.

When it comes to the stuff I draw I always welcome criticism. Preferably the constructive kind. If anyone has any ideas/pointers just post them here or PM me directly.

@Legotoadeto. Critics are normally fine IMO. The Haters are the ones that really shouldn't be posting all over the place.
