My uncle has a PS3 now (which I play Modern Warfare 2 on every once in awhile) and he and his son like FPS games. Are there any that you can recommend he gets? Are MAG and Killzone 2 worth playing?

MAG is fun but it may not be everyones cup of tea. I would recommend Resistance and Resistance 2. Honestly never played Killzone 2 so I wouldn't know if it was worth it or not.

All the old Medal of Honors are like 6 bucks... nothing like blowing away Nazi nutcrackers.

Don't bother with Killzone 2, it's garbage. Resitance 2 is alright, but 1 is pretty bad. Frankly, there aren't too many good exclusive FPS' on the PS3 that I can think of.

I haven't played Killzone 2 retail, but I did play the demo, and I thought it was really good, actually. The cover mechanic felt really natural to me. (I'd use a FX controller to play it though, not a fan of dual analog in this case)

It's really up to your tastes if you'd like it or not. The good news is, there's demos for like ... every notable FPS on the system, I suggest checking them out to see if you like them.

As for "exclusives", Killzone and Resistance are pretty much it in FPS land.

I really hated the controls. You moved so sluggish no matter what the sensitivity is. Gave the game several tries but I could not stand it. Sucks because everything else in the game was pretty good.

Considering it's a cover based first person shooter, I don't think you're suppose to be darting all over the place. Sprint seemed to work well though ... oh well.

It's not a miraculous game or anything, in any case. It's worth trying, though.

Cover based shooter or not it shouldn't be incredibly difficult to move your crosshairs from target to target. Heard they're fixing this gripe in the third game and if that's true I'll give it a try.

Meh, I have Killzone 2 and it's alright. The controls kinda suck but I still liked it.

Call of Duty MW2
Resident Evil 5
Killzone 2
Reistance: Fall of Man (Is ok)
Half-Life 2


Other then that haven't really play to much into other FPS's so can't judge properly

RE5, MW2 and HL2 are all better on the 360 and HL2 is way better on PC. Like I said before I thought Killzone 2 and Resistance were rubbish. Resitance was just so bland. Go here, shoot a bunch of aliens, go there, shoot a bunch of aliens etc. Played it with a buddy for a couple of hours and were bored to tears. Resitance 2 was 100x batter in my opinion. A good shooter/adventure game would be Uncharted 2 which is by far better than any of the games on that list. The PS3 just isn't a shooter system, which I'm fine with.

I just went back to MAG and they greatly improved the graphics and everything. The game is much better now and when playing with freinds it is my favourite this gen FPS.
