I really just don't agree with the argument that if someone feels a game is flawed for X reason, it means that they just suck at the game. That is the equivalent of a 8 year or response to an insult saying, "oh yeah, well....you're ugly!!!!" I mean, come on, that shows nothing but lack of intelligence and class. Here's how this conversation went.
Prime: The controls are slippery
Kaori: You just suck at the game.
I mean, really, which point sounds legit and which sounds like an elementary school playground insult? What the fuck does skill level have to do with evaluation of how well a game controls? You don't have to be an expert to decide if you like how a game feels and plays. From the second I play a game I know pretty much right away if I like how the controls feel. I'm by no means "good" at the game at that point...does that make my opinion invalid? If I play the game enough I may learn how to adapt and use the physics and play control to my advantage but it doesn't mean that the control has fundamentally changed with my skill level, I've just learned how to use it. Sonic jumps the exact same way the 1,000,000th time as the first time.
I couldn't agree more with you on this one, saying I just suck at the controls seems like a cop-out argument. also, if I came off as a douche bag to you or anyone else than I apologize. Your opinions on this are really good in my book even though you still think Shadow of the Colossus is great and I'll admit that it's not a bad game, it's just not that engaging to me. also, I know the title of this is bashing the games and my posts say that I don't think they are terrible games which seems like a contradictory but I only put that as a title so people would take a look at it and obviously it seemed to work lol.
