I'm very disappointed over the number of characters this game has. 30? Marvel Vs Capcom 2 had over 40 characters. If you're gonna make a fighting game sequel the number of characters the game has is supposed to INCREASE! I think this more or less has to do with the fact that the game uses high res 3D models as opposed to 2D sprites and you can't fit as many models on a disc as you can 2D sprites. The way I see it is they should have just made the game back in the 2D style of the previous games, that way we can have MORE characters, and, as anybody who likes fighting games knows, the more characters a fighting game has the more depth and variety it has, and that makes the game so much better.

It also means the more unbalanced the game can become and that certain characters can become overpowered. I'd rather have the 30 limit then apply the great flaw of Mortal Kombat Armageddon or whatever, where EVERY CHARACTER EVER was available and the game flopped, IMO, regardless.

You're seriously comparing this game to MK? It wasn't the number of choices, it was that they cared more about strict martial arts styles that they filmed for robotic stiff characters.

I'm just saying that a massive archive of characters doesn't always make a good game. 'nor does it inherently make a game "better". Plus, this is Capcom, they're just going to release a better edition of MvC3 down the road or some DLC content for the characters we want.

From what I heard in an interview on GameTrailers, right now 30+ characters are making the cut since the announcement, more are coming but they're searching for more exciting characters that people would love to see in a Capcom fighting game.

So you heard NOTHING about people bragging about MvC2? I'm pretty sure one of the most beloved features about the game was the sheer number of characters the game let you play as was mind blowing. In fact I think at the time it was the most any 2D fighting game ever had.

You know, I've always wanted to see Sigma vs. Professor Xavier, just to see who has the shiniest head.

Yes, but teams can be entirely unbalanced in MvC2, which does become annoying in my personal opinion. Cable & Omega Red & War Machine or whatever the heck that cliche team is?

I'm just stating the fact that more doesn't ALWAYS mean better, and ANY time a 2D game transitions to a 3D game the character roster takes a HUGE hit. In my opinion 30 isn't bad, considering there are at least 5 or 6 throwaway characters in MvC2.

Except 2D sprites is much more expensive and harder to do. You have to draw every sprite. If they put it back to 2D it'd take forever for it to come out (like Street Fighter 2 HD).

Well yeah, I don't expect to be playing hardcore tournaments with it, but I'm sure as hell gonna have a lot more fun playing it then most fighting games.
