Every so often, when you least expect it, art and pop-culture will collide to make something incredible. A few months ago I was introduced to such a collision, and it is awesome.
Its called
Wizard People, Dear Readers.
If you've never heard of it, its a separate audio track you play while watching Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's [or Philosopher's] Stone. Sort of like a Rifftrax, except for this the movie is muted and the story is re-told completely through the new audio.
And it is funny. The story is completely ripped to shreds. Hermione becomes an attention-starved hideous creature, Snape becomes a woman, Harry is godlike but battles alcoholism and depression, and a lot of other changes that are better left as surprises. The premise is that this is a book on tape, based on a book written by a guy who watched the movie and had no idea what was going on, in a sense.
All of this is done by
Brad Neely. You've probably seen some of his work before.
Below is the first portion of it from youtube, but it is using older audio and its not synced properly. I highly recommend you download the audio
HERE and play it as it was intended. Best viewed with a group of friends, some who love HP and others who despise it.
Has anyone else watched this before?
