I thought this could be a cool topic since I enjoy collecting PS1 games,

Just becuase there are SO MANY. And unlike systems like the snes alot of the games no one has ever even heard about them, So I wanted to see what PS1 games that you guys have played that are totally random or that no one knows about Ill share mine first =D

Martian Gothic



This was a verry interesting game It was done in the same style as Silent Hill Or Resident Evil it takes place on a base on mars, The story is a little to hard to talk about but this game is creepy! For me I found this game a little more creepy then Silent Hill, A Haunted town is one thing but A Haunted Base On Mars? Thats another. it has a creepy atmosphere that for me is yet to be matched there is almost no music but you hear creepy wind noises and monsters in the distance, Great stuff =D The only things I dont like is the fact that there is 3 people to play as and it is HARD If you have problems playing games like silent hill stay away, Im still upset this game did not do that well when it first came out it was only like 10$ but if you can find it give it a chance

I picked it up years ago and in my fragile child mind thought it was some how related to Time Crisis. Turns out it's just some anime jerk beating up goons an a huge boat. The first level went on for a good 30 mins so I decided to stop. My copy is now scratched to bits underneath my bed somewhere.

Now that I think about it, it does seem like a cool idea, essentially Streets Of Rage on a huge cruise ship with tons of variety you could get from it (I assume) a pool stage, ball room, tennis court, the works. I shall have to pick up another copy soon enough.

I don't think it came out in America, however. From what I can tell from some vague info on the web, it was released in Japan and then Virgin Interactive and/or Interplay released it in the UK. But I could be wrong.

Urban Chaos.

You play as a police officer fighting to stop not only a city wide gang war, but also stop a doomsday cult from summoning a demon into existence and bringing about Armageddon.

The game was awesome, there were numerous stages throughout the city, each free-roamable with hidden side objectives (Like different crimes to solve). The game also had some sweet unlockable levels in which you could control a gang member and take part in the gang war.

You could shoot, drive, platform, and go nuts. It was like GTA3, before GTA3 and on the PS1. Only you were a police officer.

not really sure how well known or not this game is, the fact is i hardly ever hear anyone ever mention it so I am going to assume its at least semi not that well known, its also pretty meh, the game play is sort of a hybrid of survival horror and an adventure game, and it moves pretty slow, but over all I really liked it a lot.

and for the last one, again i am not really sure exactly how popular this one is or was but I hardly ever hear anyone mention it, let alone say that they really like it.

Dynasty Warriors...the very first one. It was a fighting game with very stiff controls and bland graphics.
When ps2 came out, I saw the second DW game and was like,"Fuck! It was good enough to make another game?" Thank god it they changed everything about it.

Evil Zone. Basically same as above. Opening animation told me this might be awesome.....not really the case when I played. Mom bought this for me for Christmas. Meh. Entertained me till I got Devil may cry....she bought me a ps1 game when I just bought the ps2.

The cover alone is the pinnacle achievement in mankind's history. Looks like Gex...just...got...SERIOUS!

I really liked Flashback: The Quest for Identity and this game is similar control and style wise plus, who doesn't love a good platformer?

I'm sure everybody's played this anyway, but I just want to post it since it was the first ever ps1 game I got

In Japan it's a Saturn game, but oh well. I know almost no one who's even heard of it, let alone played it.

Played all of those Disney games, and they kicked serious ass! Especially Toy Story 2.
I only knew one kid that had PS1 so I'm not sure what's famous or not, but 40 Wins or something like that?

This. The Adventures of Alundra is still one of my favorite games ever.



For those of you who don't know, it's basically a Zelda type game, but with some serious improvements. Beautiful art and music, good story, great characters, awesome gameplay and some mind-wrecking puzzles. Play it!


Also, this game. Blaze and Blade.



Blaze and Blade is a co-op multiplayer adventure game for up to four players. It has some flaws, but when played with one or more friends it's a lot of fun. The story is almost non-existing and resembles a typical pre-written D&D adventure, and the gameplay is very basic but fun (as long as one of you is good with the camera). Random item drops make for somewhat of a replay value.


And, last but not least, the jewel of my PS1 collection: Vib Ribbon.



This is a unique music game which you first pre-load off the disc and then switch discs to a music CD of your choice. The game generates platforming levels from the music, and voila: you have a really hard game to play while listening to your favorite music! Depending on how well you do, the character either evolves or devolves until finally dying. The graphics are black and white and made up of simple lines only, creating an interesting artstyle.

Known as Intelligence Qube in your foreign devil land.

Also, Sequel plz.

EDIT: Let me rephrase that. REMAKE plz, the PSP titles were meh at best.
