no good deed goes unpunished....
2 1/2 weeks or so my computer monitor took a shit, wouldnt turn on at all and when it did it would just click, after a little research I learn my monitor is notorious for having capacitors go bad, pop the case open, sure enough 6 or 7 really badly bulged caps, so I look at the part numbers , hop on the internet and order the parts I need.
a week and a half later they still aint here, it seems they got lost in the mail, so I call them up and they say oh we are so sorry sir, we will ship a new order out to you right away via ups so we track it and make sure you get your order this time.
monday they arrived right when they are supposed to free of charge, I open my monitor solder them in place and bingo, works great again, perfect picture everything is smooth sailing.
today ( wensday ) morning the missing package arrives ( almost 3 weeks after ordering it ) via USPS, so being the fairly honest guy I am I call them and say h ey guys the missing parts actually turned up, should I send them back or what?
well they inform me since they reshipped the parts and I now have 2 full orders I have to send them back ASAP or be billed for the 2nd order, and I have to pay the shipping costs my self to send it back, so I say ok ill throw it in the mail and send it back, and the guy says no it has to be shipped UPS, insured and have a tracking number, this will cost 10 bucks to ship - for 7 dollars worth of parts ( that dont weigh jack shit )
so I tell the guy off and im like what the fuck man I am trying to do the right thing here and its gonna cost me 10 bucks? and he gave me the whole "well im sorry sir thats company policy " bit . so I ended up telling him I will just keep the parts and pay the 7 dollars since it was cheaper then the 10 to ship it back.
I would have been more then happy to send them back and pay the shipping cost out of pocket if it was a few bucks for first class mail or even priority mail, but fuck paying 10 dollars out of my own pocket to ship back an order that got lost in the mail - now that shit grinds my gears.
I should have just kept it and pretended it never came and they would have been none the wiser.
