I posted this back on Scr- that site a while ago, but I'll post it here now. Why does no one have a Texas accent? Is it because it's urban Texas? I don't get it!

Well...one you usually get in urban areas like Dallas, Houston and Austin is a odd merging of a lot of accents. Are you going to hear the stereotypical "Yee-haa! Gosh, that was the best darn show this side of the Pecos!" Texas accent? No, in fact...you hardly ever hear that type of accent...anywhere in Texas. However, you can sometimes hear the twang at the end of some people's sentences (which usually is attributed to southern dialects). In fact, listen to Perfect Liz...she has a little of that twang (not much, mind you) in her voice.

True True. Like my dad sounds like a big ol' red neck sometimes and says stuff like "dem skeeters (misqutoes) are big this year." But most people don't walk around sounding like cowboys. I noticed Cameraman Joe has a bit of an accent.

I'm just waiting for one of them to use the "word" y'all. That's fairly common even in the urban areas.

I'm glad they don't have southern accents. A lot of times, they can get on my nerves.

man, i use that word way too much. Its just a nice word that smoothly works within conversation.

You could take their constant use of "awesome" for an accent.

Liz: "Good morning Tom!"
Tom: "Another day on this earth just started! It's gonna be awesome!"
Liz: "I made some breakfast complete with cake. It's gonna taste awesome!"
Geoff: "You know what? I think the PS3 isn't that bad after all. It's awesome!"
Jordan: "What's a PS3?"

I bet y'all Tom and Liz voted Bush last election.

Doubt that Texas hate his retard ass more then anyone. Because now the word thinks Texas is full of dumb ass rednecks even more.

I had the worst southern accent when I was younger. Old videos of myself make me cringe. I've made a conscious effort to avoid phrases like "y'all" but only insert "you guys" in it's spot. Can't say that's much of an improvement.

I spent 3 months working in Texas and made a conscience effort to talk like them cause I was tired of people going, you're from New York aren't you? You're so forward.

I hear whenever Tom beats Mickey in a game of Super Mario Kart Tom fires a pair of pistols in the air going "YEE-HAW!"

Actually, he fires NES Zappers in the air.

I bet one of the GH cast gets their rocks off from Propane, still.

Ive heard Liz say y'all a few times, but nobody else.
