Boston didn't come to play, but that's a goal.

I was pissed about that other one, too.

Yeah, you got me there at the end. Thought I had a shot at you this time.

I can live with that, though, because the Rangers aren't showing any signs of slowing down. Their lead in the Atlantic has grown to eight points, and they hold a seven point lead over Boston in the East. They're starting to look like a real Stanley Cup threat.

Oh, and they also lead the league in fighting majors. That's an entertaining team, right there. :teehee:

NHL Trade Deadline day. Are the Rangers going to pick up Rick Nash? My vote it no.

No, and thank [insert deity of your choice here] for that. He would have cost way too much in assets, and his contract is absurd.

Rangers just beat the Devils 2-0. Clarkson gave me 19 PIMs in the pool, too. Fuck you very much, asshole.

They went through a stretch of five or six games where they didn't play all that well. Might have just been deadline jitters. Now that they don't have to worry about anyone being moved, they can get back to business.

I didn't think Nash was going to go anywhere. The Blue Jackets are asking way too much for him I think. He'll be gone in the summer after their GM gets canned (it'll happen).

Something I hoped the Sens would do after Anderson went down with a fluke injury was pick up Ben Bishop from St. Louis. The kid is huge, like almost Chara huge and is suppose to be the best goalie in the AHL. So with him, Lehner (another big goalie and fantastic prospect that's getting a good look with Anderson out) Ottawa FINALLY for the first time in their young history has lots of goaltending depth. Auld will be gone after this season, not that anyone cares as he's really not that good.

I'm getting pumped for the playoff race. I hope the Sens take the 6th spot and face either Florida or Winnipeg as they'll give us the chance of moving to the second round. Especially Florida who has never played well against Ottawa.

NO! :verymad:

Don't take our goalies! Cause if there is one thing that my Blues love to do nowadays is stock pile goalies. I am thinking that we will have an entire team of Goalies and just go on the ice to destroy everybody like having an entire 'chubby' team on 'Ice Hockey' for the NES.

But, goalies and having our players leave our team to win the Stanley Cup elsewhere is pretty much what we are known for.

It really would have been nice to trade one of our prospects for a scoring forward. I think the Blues have a great chance of getting far into the playoffs this year, so it would have been nice to see them push more of their chips into the pot instead of thinking that the young kids are all we need. Throw the Blues, the Preds, the damn Wings and Canucks into a lottery and any of those teams can go to the Stanley Cup Finals.

Well you have Halak and Elliott (go to hell btw because Ottawa's had him for years and he was terrible for us last year) playing amazing. There's just no room for Bishop and people are saying he's pretty much NHL ready. While he comes into a situation in the Ottawa system where he once again will have to fight for the backup goalie position with Robin Lehner, who is much younger than Bishop, I'm just happy the Sens are finally looking solid in goal for the first time really ever (after we give Auld the boot that is).

As for the Blues this year, what a story. David Backes is one of the most underrated players in the league. I think they have the potential to upset some teams this year in the playoffs... which is weird seeing as how they're right behind Vancouver for the President's trophy race. Very happy St. Louis is looking like a solid club again.

Seriously though, this year's playoffs have the potential to be very interesting. Minus some teams in the bottom of the West I don't expect to make it far and maybe whomever wins the Southeast division (come on Ottawa, get sixth place!), anything can happen. Dallas and Colorado are heating up and San Jose and Chicago are tanking (which makes me sad as I'm a big Blackhawks fan). I really don't see Calgary making it as they're just leaning on Kiprusoff who has been great but it's too much for him to carry the team. The Flames need a rebuild sooo bad yet they keep trucking on with mediocrity. Still, there will be some awesome hockey to watch in the West this year I think! A Blues and Preds matchup might just be one of the best series to watch (if it happens, the Blues are surging right now).

In the East I think the teams in right now are who will make it in the end. Toronto is tanking (much to my pleasure) and Washington... just wow are they terrible this year. Not sure what the hell is wrong with this team but after watching them a few times this month I can tell you they won't make the playoffs and if they do they'll be easy fodder for the Rangers. Like I said, I don't see any team coming out of the Southeast making it past the first round, but beyond that it's all up in the air. The East seems very evenly matched so I can't even really predict what will happen. I'll just sit here and hope the Sens make it far lol

Finny offered me a trade today. He wanted Rinne for Ward and Eriksson. I laughed my ass off for about ten minutes, then promptly rejected it.

I left the comments section blank because I didn't want to come off as a dick.

Hahahaha yeah that sounds like something he would do! He was my roommate in residence my first year of college. He tries to bank on people not knowing much about hockey and wants to really challenge to win the pool for a second year in a row. If he offers you a trade never take it! FYI: I dumped Ward for Halak months ago and I don't regret it for one second.

You think maybe he tried to pick on the non-Canadian? I don't live there, but I know a thing or two about this game.

Oh, and the Rangers just beat the Bruins for the third time this season. You're welcome. ;-)

He may be thinking too you don't really care about the pool. I know the people at the bottom just stopped caring (even though I tried helping them out by giving advice but they just don't care... whatever, they just lost $10). I don't know why Puckshot cares so much. He didn't even buy into the pool so he gets nothing if he wins!

Yes, let the Rangers beat the Bruins... gives the Sens a better chance of taking the Northeast division!

Hockey pool playoffs on now! Crosby coming back just added to my point total. The guy has been getting assists like crazy!

I'm already done for. No way I'm catching up.

Rangers just beat Detroit in overtime, 2-1. Wish Pittsburgh would fucking cool off. :verymad:

You've still got a chance to win your cash back if you don't win this week. Blue is another guy who bought in and he's losing pretty badly to me which leave me and SynCity left out of those of us who payed in. If you're up against Blue next week and win you get your $10 back!

Yeah, don't if you want a chance at third place! It might be you, Blue and Cyn fighting for either second or third (Cyn's on the bubble).

Btw, I would really like to know what's happening to Ottawa right now. Terrible time to have a slump with Washington, Winnipeg and Buffalo right on our heels AND we have Pittsburgh in town tonight... ugh...

Hard fought shootout win in Toronto for the Rangers tonight. That gives them 100 points for only the fifth time in club history.

Blackie, you have no idea how much I love your team right now. Thank you thank you thank you. XD

hahahaha yeah... Didn't see that one coming, especially after the pounding the Habs gave us the night before... we really needed those two points.

Rangers win another road game, 4-2 in Winnipeg. They now officially own the tiebreaker over Pittsburgh, with 45 ROW. The most the Pens can get is 44.

Even though the standings show the Rangers with a five point lead in the Atlantic, in actuality, the lead is six points.

There was another shorthanded goal scored against me in the pool, but it was Del Zotto, and it changed the whole complexion of the game. I'll gladly take that hit. :-D
