One of the greatest anthems of the last decade. And if you disagree with me, I will fight you. That's no lie.

I've been debating picking it up. Their new song's been in my head for weeks...

You ever see them live? Great show, great mixes. I mean, it's robots on stage, but whatever.

Won't lie, my kid is big on Imagination Movers right now...so that's been in heavy rotation at my household. I actually have grown really fond of their music.

Don't judge me.

No, I've barely seen any music live. It's always been a bit too expensive.

You have not lived my friend. Some acts are just that much better live. I wish Daft Punk would come down this way, but I shouldn't complain too much. I've seen too many AAA acts in my day. I plan on seeing Alice in Chains at Bluesfest this year in Ottawa. Another band I can knock off my bucket list.

Speaking of AIC, their new album came out today. I like the first single they released.

Oh man, Alice in Chains. That's a name I remember from way back. Seattle in the 90's was a fantastic time and place to be. Like a new age, dirty, rocked out version of 1960's San Francisco just with more coke/heroin and less LSD. It's crazy to look at the history of Alice in Chains - that is a tortured band if there has ever been one. I remember when Layne Stanley was found dead...a part of my teenage/early 20's self died with him.

I hear they are just as good now with William Duvall as lead vocalist, plus you still have Jerry Cantrell on lead axe and he can jam. Should be a great show. Haven't gotten a chance to see them, kind of got out of the rock scene around the turn of the millennium but Dirt and Jar of Flies still get regular rotation on my Zune.

And as far as Daft Punk live...if you ever, and the Rock means EVER have a chance at going...

Go.

It's like seeing Tron live.

It's out today? Didn't know that. Thanks for the heads up I'll check it out. I loved their last album. Can't wait to see them this summer!

I wouldn't say just as good, because honestly there is no way to replace Layne Staley. But I will say they did pretty much the best an AIC fan could hope for. DuVall is a great lead singer, and he sounds enough like Staley so that they still sound very much "AIC" and their old songs performed sound pretty good live, but not so much like Staley that it sounds like they purposely tried to hire a sound-a-like. Black Gives Way to Blue is an incredible album IMHO.

They came to Nashville back in early 2010 to promote BGWTB and I'm kicking myself for not going. I'm really hoping they come back this year.

I hope so too, because Nashville is still pretty close to my neck of the woods.
