I've never been one for MMORPGs, but I'm actually looking forward to this one. Jim Lee heads the art department and Geoff Johns is doing the story for it so I don't have any worries about story or art. It looks to be set in Metropolis for now with a map that's supposed to be over 1000 blocks (if the game does well hopefully we could see other cities like Gotham, Star City, Coast City, etc) My only concerns are how its going to control on the PS3 and how far we can go with the character creation. Is it possible to make a character with a power ring? Will there be multi classing? Can we join establish teams like JLA, JSA, Titans, GL Corps., Sinestro Corps., the bat family etc?

If anyone is interested what would you want/make in this game?

Fun concept, but I think it's going to be crowded with people with dumb names like most MMOs. That being said, it all lies within Character Creation. Champions Online had half decent creation but not a lot of options. City of Heroes/Villains had a smorgasbord of options, but even then a few missing things here and there... IE. I can't have Lizard Legs and wear torn up hulk pants. Also, things need to meld with the universe, and they need to more or less REMOVE the option to create characters like the main heroes or else everyone is going to make a character that looks like Batman. The concept seems to be that you're a "new" hero, so it'll be interesting to see how that all works. With that being said, I would hope at least Green Power Rings are available to characters.

I have been out of the mmo game for a while, mostly because it consumed my life back in the day. However, I am interested in this. I want them to do a good job and at the same time I want it to flop because if it's really fucking good that'll be even more tempting to me lol. I too wish for green power rings!

Mongo, on the bright side, no MMO can be as addicting as WoW is. I think the Superhero MMO is something that's always been built around the "pick up and play" concept. Maybe that's why I like City of Heroes and others complain that it's repetitive and grindy. Sure killing mobs non-stop for a week straight will be repetitive, but if you play it maybe two or three times a week for a few hours, it's not going to feel like a grind.

Sure, but if you only play every so often and have to pay to play, it starts seemingly like a waste of money.

City of Heroes does have one cool new feature now which allows players to create missions and story arcs.

Mostly depends on your other expenses. Like, if you're still buying console games or just paying a monthly fee for a game.

Can't even lie. That was unbeleivably awesome!

I'm not a DC guy...like, at all. But, that trailer totally got me interested in this game. Granted, monthly fee's pretty much guarantee I wont ever play it, but, at least it gave me good feelings toward the game itself  .

Just attended a panel about this game at the San Diego Comic Con today. Mark Hamill even showed up. They said it would focus on being a superhero and have no grinding. I even got a VIP beta key.

Trailer Might not have gameplay in it, but it is the most epic thing I have ever seen.

So...since there has been more articles about this game on Kotaku, anyone else have any other thoughts?

This is an MMO game that actually interests me; if I could support a monthly fee, I probably would give this a chance.

I can't say much.

I will say this.

I am reminded of the first time I ever altered my mood with a substance.
