So, Beeslo and Mongo unleashed a Comic of the Month. I figure I'll share my Comic of the Week, which may seem a little redundant by now...

Punisher 15

Like I said, redundant. This is the THIRD time I've picked Punisher as my Comic of the Week, and it just keeps getting better and better IMHO, but it's definitely a "love it or hate it" sort of plot twist, and the letters page for this issue was FILLED with an angry wall of text that I could've sworn was written by Beeslo. Let me break it down as simple as possible though as to why this particular issue was awesome:

- The Punisher continues to be haunted by images of his recently resurrected family alive being torched to death by his own hands, thus giving this issue some connectivity with pre-FrankenCastle Punisher stories.

- They touch upon the "You're Jigsaw's kid" thing with his new partner again, which is nice.

Let's be honest though Violence and Awesome is why we read The Punisher, and here's the highlight reel:

- The Punisher rides down into a horde of samurai monster squad hunters on a fucking DRAGON lighting all their asses on fire while he guns them all down with a giant fucking Machine Gun as shown on the cover.

- The Punisher (he's lacking a dragon at this point btw) THEN has to take on a fucking horde of Nazi Zombies! So, there's some sweet ass kicking and head explosions and all that goodness.

- THEN he has to take on the Samurai Monster Squad AND the Nazi Zombies at the same time, and ends up trapping them into a room together and making his great escape as the Monster Squad is consumed by flesh eating evil Nazi's.

Sure, this may be over the top and cliche, and it seems sort of ironic that I'm praising something that involves riding on dragons and fighting nazi zombies, but then I call Nemesis out on being boring when it has people being exploded by Trains and him taking down Air Force One, but for some reason The Punisher FEELS a lot more fun, while Nemesis currently feels a lot more serious in tone. That may be the difference, or I may just have a soft spot for The Punisher from my days as a kid in the '90s, who knows. What I do know, is that EVERYONE should be giving the first Arc of FrankenCastle a shot when it comes out in TPB, especially if you're not reading the singles. It's hard to judge the series based off the first 2 issues of the arc, because they are definitely slow when compared to "Punisher: The List". Honestly, everyone should give the entire series a shot, Pre-Franken and Franken.

Wow, it starting to sound like a Rodriguez & Tarantino production. :teehee:

haha, seriously, Frankencastle REALLY reminds me of the over the top ultraviolence of Planet Terror, most definitely.

It's like, part Punisher, part Silly Fun, part Fanservice, and a final part of just Ultraviolence.

Also, just for the sake of mentioning it... there was a STRONG chance that Cloak & Dagger were going to earn the "Comic of the Week" spot until the Punisher came in on that Dragon.
