Watchmen prologue.. On your mark, get set, terrible. (Honestly though, I think Hollywood has blunted my feelings for these things)

The only Zelda title that I really have played is A Link to the Past. Nothing against the series, just have had my interest elsewhere.
Alex F on a ocarina? Nice. :pringles:

Groovy guitar bg music you have there.
Huh, you're time travel input remark does make sense.. Hmm.

Wait, are you saying your production or your listenership is becoming sparse?

I'm of the belief that the Watchmen prequels will mostly be good. I've yet to read anything even mediocre by Darwyn Cooke or Brian Azzarello. I could care less about JMS's books, but if his Niteowl book gets a good response I'll pick it up.

I don't have a problem with DC doing this either. To put things into perspective: Watchmen came about because Moore was originally going to use the Charlston characters DC acquired but he wanted to kill a chunk of them off. DC put the kibosh on that but were open to still doing the story but with new characters. So its not like these characters were entirely original creations.

Yet another way to look at it is by looking at the fact that he got the opertunity after his work on Swamp Thing; a character created by Len Wein who was his editor on Watchmen and happens to be writing some of the prequels. Moore's work on Swamp Thing has always been highly praised and after he left the book the book fell off and the charactered had poor attempts at relaunches. Yet just this past September Swamp Thing has gotten a new series, penned by the fantastic Scott Snyder and is one of the most popular titles in the New 52.

If this truly was a cash in they would have done this back when the movie came out. DC had tried adamantly to get Moore on board with these books. They offered him full ownership of the property if he would come back and write more and he said no. They offered him the same deal if he would come and just overlook the stories and he said no. No one seems to care that Dave Gibbons has always been cool with what DC has done with Watchmen.

At the end of the day they are DC characters and they can do whatever they want with them. If they gave the books to guys like James Robinson, JT Krull, Rob Liefeld, Eric Wallace or any other hack writer then yeah I'd be worried. But these are the people that brought us Batman Knight of Vengeance (the Flashpoint tie-in), Justice League New Frontier, Joker, the new 52 Wonder Woman to name a few. These are great writers and I think the books they've been assigned fit their style perfectly. And if it all turns out to be crap, it doesn't make the original story any worse. Look at Dark Knight Returns, one of the best Batman books of all time. It's sequel DK2 was a steaming pile of shit but that hasn't hurt the original story at all.
