Play Tactics. It fleshes out Suikoden IV into a more enjoyable game.

I liked 3 the most. Geddoe was the most badassed RPG character ever (until Yangus came around), Chris was hot, and it had a villiage full of lesbians in it.

Chris always angered me for some reason lol

Geddoe was cool although 75% of his lines were "......."

3 was good, but something about it irked me a bit

who did you guys choose as the Flame Champ? I chose Hugo and the endings of all 3 make it seem that Hugo was supposed to be the champ by default

Canon says that Hugo is/was the Flame Champion. Geddoe kept his True Lightning while Chris inherited her father's True Water.

I picked Hugo the first time (for the sake of cannon) but my cd broke right after the Water Dragon fight so I stopped playing while I tracked another cd down. Found another cd, this time I restarted and picked Chris, and finished the game the first time with her. Replayed it again, picked Geddoe then finally Hugo again. I have to honestly say, (as much as I love her as a character) Chris is the worse Flame Champion if you look at it from a rune user p.o.v.

Geddoe.
Then Hugo.
Then Geddoe again.
Then Chris.
And finally for my Summer replay, Geddoe.

Yep.
Put him in one of Nadir's plays, hilarity ensues.

I always made Geddoe the Flame Champion because he's a badass who deserves it.

I'm slowly finishing up Tierkris like a year later. My only complaint is the easyness of everything. It's like... where the fuck are the dungeons? You "invade" a castle and it usually involves all this effort to make 2 or 3 parties, and then each one takes on a normal group of enemies that they kill in a turn or less, and then the main character fights some boss character they can't defeat and you last so many turns and then you win.

What the fuck?

I finished the game. The ending was sort of... not as awesome as the other ones. It just felt like there was something lacking at the end. The boss DID whoop my ass and I had to like entirely restart from the half-way point of the tower and then backtrack out of the dungeon to buy some items to restore my MP and what not.

Overall I give the game a 7/10, it ranks somewhere around Suikoden IV. I'm just bummed by the lack of overall difficulty and/or challenge. A majority of game seems VERY short. Like... there's BARELY any maps, and if you weren't aiming for all 108 stars and/or completion you'd finish the game in like 20 hours or so.

I actually really enjoyed the characters and the plot and everything. It was pretty cool I just wish some of the maps/dungeons/battles lasted more than a few random encounters and a boss fight. The game really zips by, and that's such a bummer because it's such an interesting world. At it's heart it was DEFINITELY a Suikoden game. It really captured the concept of a bunch of ragtag folks going up against an evil empire. To me, that's what Suikoden has always been about. Runes and True Runes were just a cool plot/concept, but I could easily see Tierkreis being able to hold it's own as a spin-off franchise with some tweaks.
