GunGrave. Just throwing it out there. This was one anime I was not expecting dick from but ended up getting the whole wad. It has great character development. They create so many layers to the characters. Nothing is cut black and white. The characters show levels of grey. villians showing remorse for their actions. The suppose good guys showing signs of humanity and flaw. Wrapped all up in a beautiful ending.
If you decide to check out this show, don't let the first episode throw you off. First episode was kind of a poor set up that doesn't make sense till more than half way through the series. After the first episode though, you're golden.

If you guys have seen it. Discuss it a bit!

Don't let Link get ahold of this topic cuz he'll rave about how great the show is. And y'know what? It is that good. I watched it back when it was on TechTv, now G4. It had a great plot, awesome characters, but it did get kinda weird when it started focusing on Grave fighting monsters, rather than dealing with the usual "the family" problems.

Anyway, I made an AMV last year. So check it out:

Y'know, I'd only rave about this entirely if it was Kaiji. But, Gungrave is a VERY good example about how a game can transfer to Anime and be amazing. When I first watched it, I never expected the epic backstory and the well developed characters. I was expecting something more along the lines of what Devil May Cry's anime series was and got something totally different. :)

It's DEFINITELY in my top 10 anime of all time, which is eventually going to be a list I do on HealingTouch some day I'm sure, since my opinion is all highly valued and stuff (Really, besides me and KH and maybe one or two others there aren't many hardcore anime otaku folks.)

I am surprised by the lack of Gungrave support. :(

I love Gungrave. It was something that I didn't know how amazing it was going to be until I actually started watching it. I had a recommendation that I would like it, but it's just so good.

The balance of Brandon/Harry and how their relationship develops over the course of the show is one of my favorite things I've seen yet in anime. I mean, how everything culminates into
Spoiler
The Elevator Scene
is so dramatic and intense. That scene gave me chills in how well it was executed. I have so much love for this show! More people need to watch it. :)

I can't agree with you anymore. The elevator scene is my favorite scene in anime, ever.
