So I saw a Wild Arms game for the PSP sitting on the shelf at Best Buy.

Is this the first one in the series? I'm kind of interested in a Western-styled RPG.

no, Wild Arms XF (the one for PSP) is a godawful strategy rpg. don't get it, seriously.

Huh? I thought it was a remake of this first game...

Anyways, I played Wild ARMs 4 but I didn't like it. I never wanted to touch the series again....until I picked up Wild ARMs 5. I really like the battle system and the music.

:-o Woah! I thought this game would never get any respect! I discovered this game when I was younger and has never left my game collection since. Yeah, Wild Arms is a real nice RPG. It's a shame that it was overshadowed by Final Fantasy 7's release, and was missed out on by a lot of gamers. I have one, two, three, and Alter Code F (the first is my obvious favorite). I skipped out on four and five because the newer combat system was a huge turn-off for me.

I have 4 and 5, and while new combat systems can suck (see Suikoden) it doesn't mean you shouldn't check them out. :)
