That's Crossing Midnight, isn't it? It's by the same guy who wrote Lucifer, I forget his name.

Alex Ross. Marvels is greatness. To a pretty large degree I enjoyed it much more than Kingdom Come. It tells an interlocking story of the Marvel universe from the creation of the android The Human Torch (NOT Johnny Storm) to the death of Gwen Stacy all told from a normal civilian's point of view ... a journalist and photographer no less ... and how the appearance of super powered beings changed their world.

It's a fantastic book, and it took Ross and company ten years to finish the four issue series. Well worth a look.

Dang, three days. Did everyone forget about this or did no one know what it was?
