I'l have to how people vote. If one of the PNG's win, I will have to create one next time. I purposely created mine more vintage style so it would stand out. I could tell there would be many PNG's :P

I'l have to see what the people want.

PNGs and fancy transparencies aren't everything. This is the first time I've ever attempted something like this for a signature, so... yeah. Do what best fits your theme/idea/vision.

Finally voting time.

I'm voting for Kaiserhawk because his sig is hilarious. He did a great job with the comic book text, and the overall cropping. The pattern in the background is a bit weak though, I'm not really feeling it.

Voting starts in 4 hours technically... giving Nomad some time to rush in with a finished sig. :)

You should've put a snazzy white 'comic' border around it so it looked like he was coming out of a comic panel. That would've looked awesome. You could've even singed the edges of the white border and shit to make it look like he burned it.

I actually thought about doing that with another character (Moon knight)

But when I chose El Diablo then I just forgot about it. Though it's something I could try again, just for fun

Wallet is grabbing my vote on this one. The Snake signature just looks so... perfect. Like... it's really hard to explain, but when I saw it, I was like "Damn, that looks pretty official." It's just designed in such a way that you could expect it to be some sort of promotional thing for MGS4. I give him mad props.

I also liked Kaiserhawk's, but without the comic border it just seems a bit lacking, which is really unfortunate. :( I also liked Furia's too, I wish he would've worked with the size a bit more before he made it, if it wasn't so damn tiny it would have been an instant-win for me and probably a lot of others. Finally, I liked the Ryu one, but my only pet peeve is how the aura just cuts off at the top. It needs a little smoodging/erasing/something to clean up that hard edge, but besides that it's pretty great.

I'l go for Snake91. My reasoning isn't much more other than when I look at all the entries, his just feels right.

I want to point out that I like all of them, and that it's a tough decision. I think next time, we should have the entries be posted with the stock image that was used as the base. I was going to vote for Furia for example, but I don't know how much of it was his work, or PNG's just layered on top of eachother, see what I mean? By submitting the base we used, it's easy to tell how much work went into each.

Man. Am I ever glad I didn't enter into this SotW. I would have had my ass handed to me.

That being said. I'm torn b/t Wallet, Kaiserhawk, Furia and Link's...

Wallet - his has such an awesome texture to it and while its not big on colors, it makes up with atmosphere.

Kaiserhawk - The colors and pop factor are awesome for this one, plus its one of the few that doesn't looked forced when it comes to popping things outside the lines.

Furia - Wow. I have no idea what I'm looking at here, but damn...don't it look pretty. Seriously, the one thing that draws this back for me...is that I have no idea what it is or what game its from. All the other sigs have some way of communicating the game they are representing and this one didn't. Aside from that. Bravo.

Link - Damn. Link never disappoints. The colors, the edits, the fonts, everything rocks about this one. It doesn't pop like some of the others, but then again...the game he is representing didn't pop itself. It was more cool like classic noir.

That being said.

I'm going with Link.

SalvIsWin gets my vote on this one. I love the colors, the size, the character... pretty much everything from it. The way the background textures overlay on cloud a bit is nicely done too. Also, I normally don't like this kind of font, but it just fits this signature.

I also like Nomad's (I would've done something for the aura around the character, it looks weird) and Furia's (maybe modifying it a bit to fit the size).

So that's it, my vote = SalvIsWin.

Man, I built that sig pretty much from scratch using 10 or 11 images from the game's stock art. I have at least 20/30 some files saved from the creation of that sig. The sig is the way it is because I wanted to do something different, and that was the vision I set out to do. I tend to like the transparency style of images, but it doesn't mean I just slop shit all together into one image. It took me 2 days to put that sig together.

It's from Ikaruga. Personally I find it very easy to identify in context to it's the game. If you own Ikaruga, then you'd know what it was. I was trying to put it together to convey the story and motivation behind the game's hero; Shinra.

God, I am so discouraged :verymad: :verymad: :verymad: :verymad: :verymad: :verymad: :verymad: :verymad: :verymad: :verymad: :verymad: :verymad: :verymad: :verymad: :verymad: :verymad: :verymad:
I doubt I'll ever do this again. I tried my best.

I for one thought your signature was fucking awesome Furia. If there wasn't a signature size limit, you would've had my vote hands down. Don't get discouraged, you have no clue how many SOTW contests I've entered where I busted my ass for hours at a time to make a signature, and then it get maybe one vote at best. :(

God...same here.

Sorry, furia. It looked awesome, but an outside perspective couldn't tell what it was. I've never played City of Heroes...but I totally knew that was what Kaiserhawk's was because he made it pretty obvious.

But seriously...don't get discouraged. I look forward to your future work!

lol, insult to injury. Kaiserhawk's isn't from City of Heroes. It's from that OTHER Superhero game that came out BEFORE City of Heroes called 'Freedom Force'. Ironically enough, there's ANOTHER Superhero game in the works that looks just like City of Heroes. Why can't there just be ONE awesome 'Not Licensed by a Comic Company' Super Hero game?

Ikaruga had a story? O_o

Quote:
Several years ago in the small island nation of Horai, one of the most powerful men of the nation, Tenro Horai, discovered the Ubusunagami Okinokai—the Power of the Gods. This energy emanated from an object he dug up from deep underground and granted him unimaginable powers. Soon after, Tenro and his followers, who called themselves "The Divine Ones", began conquering nations one after another. "The Chosen People" carried out these conquests in "the name of peace".

Meanwhile, a freedom federation called Tenkaku emerged to challenge Horai. Using fighter planes called Hitekkai, they fought with the hope of freeing the world from the grips of the Horai - but all their efforts were in vain. They were no match for the Horai and were eventually almost completely wiped out. Miraculously, however, one young man survived. His name was Shinra.

Shot down near a remote village called Ikaruga, inhabited by elderly people who had been exiled by the Horai's conquests, Shinra was dragged from the wreckage and nursed back to health. Shinra regained his health and pledged to defeat the Horai, and the villagers entrusted him with a fighter plane that they had built themselves, called the Ikaruga.

The Ikaruga was no ordinary plane, designed by former engineering genius Amanai with the help of Kazamori and the village leaders. Hidden in a secret underground bunker and launched via the transportation device called the "Sword of Acala", it is the first fighter built that integrates both energy polarities, and is capable of successfully switching between the two.

Who knows, I may join again. I am just so fucking emo over this right now, it's hilariously sad.

EDIT: As for the constructive criticism from everyone, Thanks I appreciate it. I really do like CC. I just want to make it clear that I am really just pissed off by the nonconstructive criticism at this point.
