Advertisement of the Month - #1 - Umbrella - VOTE

Okay, I'm not going to blab on about rules, as it's VERY much the same like SOTW. Only this time, we're not doing little tiny signatures. We're looking for 8.5x.11 (Letter) sized advertisements!

Here's how it's going to work. I'm going to give you a product or company to advertise, maybe even a slogan, and you're going to craft up something awesome that advertises the product. Sometimes you'll be supplied with renders or slogans that you're required to use, other times you won't.

Votes will be based off creativity, design, usage of supplied items in your advertisement, slogan (if one isn't supplied) and whether or not the advertisement would make the voter interested in the company or product being advertised.

Advertise of the Month #1: Umbrella Pharmaceuticals

For the first advertisement, I figured we'd go with a geeky theme, a majority of these WILL have geek basis to hopefully maintain interest. Anywho here we go.

Project Goal/Description:

You must advertise one of the Umbrella Corporation's latest pharmaceutical drugs. Pretty simple, and it's pretty open. You are restricted to using a set list of drugs, you may use a number of them or focus on a specific one. However, the Umbrella Corporation does not approve of advertisements regarding the supposed "T-Virus" that they are responsible for, 'nor anything that might sully their reputation with the good citizens of Raccoon City.

The drugs that are allowed to be used in the advertisement are as follows:

- Aqua Cure: Umbrella's crowning public achievement, Aqua Cure is an ointment used on open wounds that made the company famous worldwide. It is considered to be Umbrella's primary public product and is very effective. It uses a "special formula" that regenerates skin cells. Most likely the recurring item First Aid Spray that appears throughout the series.

- Safsprin: Another of Umbrella's three main public products. Aspirin based, it can be used as treatment for various common, daily illnesses.

- Adravil: Another of Umbrella's three main public products. It's an ibuprofen-based analgesic.

- Uspirim: Another Umbrella Aspirin-based product.

- Valifin: A pediatric heart medication that has a side-effect of renal failure.

- Regenerate: Regenerate is a skincare product that uses a "special formula" to reanimate dead skin cells, making the user appear younger.

- Return: A weight pill that features the ability to burn up to 30 pounds per pill. Developed using a "special formula".

Slogans that are permitted to be used:

- "Preserving the health of the people."

- "Umbrella Sheltering Your Family."

- "Our Business is Life Itself."

challenge accepted, seems like a sweet idea...i'll try to think of something witty...so i take that gifs on a letter sized advert aren't allowed?

Well, these don't have to be 300 dpi, so if you can make it work, go for it. "skill" does come into play for voting as does the prettiness of your ad. But, don't let that stuff deter you from participating or using certain images. That only plays a small part in the greater picture.

A new contest? I like it! Plus this will help me practice my graphic design skills when I go back to school this month after my very long hiatus. Maybe I can use these for my future portfolio.

My computer with Photoshop is currently in need of a monitor so I can't use that but hopefully I'll be able to get something done at school tomorrow with my huge 3 hour break.

EDIT: Yes, I broke my own height x width rules, but... whatevs. It was too late in the game for me to change things, and I'm not going to be a neo-nazi about height x width for this, as long as it's in a general "print for magazine" size.

Alright it's a little small but Link broke the rules so I am going to as well. I really thought this picture was very reminiscent of a pharmaceutical ad so I used it.

We should have AOTM be AOTW and let's revive SOTW. I need the practice for school, plus all the ads I make for school are BOORING! :zombie:
