I think they're the same medium too, but there are some people who don't, i thought it could be an interesting point to be discussed in the podcast.

Hey there Alyssa!

I'm a huge manga fan but for some reason I have just never got around to reading western comics apart from the Sin City series. What series or graphic novel could you recommend for me which has a dark and gritty tone to it like Sin City?

Dear Alyssa,

#1 : Do you, or did you read comics from the Golden and Silver Age of comics, and if so, what were your thoughts on them ?

#2 : According to you, what is the main thing comics gained in the modern age, and what is the biggest thing they lost since the early comics ?

You can answer either one or both, though I am more interested in the answer to the first one.

[quote="Fox"]*I'm not sure if she is apart of either podcast or just a guest on both so I put this here, feel free to move it*

Hey Alyssa,

Have you read any of Y the Last Man? It is a really awesome series and I have even gotten some of friends who wouldn't be caught dead with a comic into it. (please do not spoil the final issue if you have read it I'm waiting for the next trade)

I have read Y and it is awesome!!!!! I also got some of my friends in to it too.

Steve,

Berserk is really good but I never finshed it because it was so hard so I will have to go with Marvel VS Capcom.

I have not read any of the Golden age or Silver.

I think they gained a biger audience but they lost the classic feel of comics, which is actually ok with me because I think some of the newer things out there is really good.

Churchy,

I love Sin City sooo much!! 100 Bullets, Punisher Max or any thing by Garth Ennis.
on a side note since you are a huge manga fan if you haven't checked of Berserk you really really need to.

Holy Crap...Alyssa is actually on the forums? I was actually wondering to myself no more than 5 minutes ago..."I wonder why I haven't seen Alyssa on the forum sub-section named after her?"

Hey Alyssa, did you get my questions I e-mailed to you centuries ago and when are you going to have your own segment (minus Geoff)?

Truer words could not have been uttered. I have respect for Batman Begins, but Batman returns will always remain my favorite Batman movie of all time !! One of the few comic book movies to actually be able to manage 2 villains and story arcs adequately at the same time. That, and the casting is flawless...

Danny de Vito as a revamped Penguin

Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman

And Christopher Walken as...Christopher Walken ! XD

Definately my favorite as well. Oh and thanks for your answers Alyssa :-)
