Everybody needs to see this movie at least once. It's basically Victorian era sci-fi put to film. Terry Gilliam is a god amongst men.

Horrible Bosses 9/10

I was laughing almost the whole time. Nobody really plays a character you've never seen them play before though. Charlie Day is basically Charlie Kelly, Jason Bateman is basically Michael Bluth, and Jason Sudeikis is Jason Sudeikis. They still play them well, though. Kevin Spacey was great as always but Colin Farrell is really the only blemish on the film acting wise. He was just horribly miscast.

Spoiler
I was also kinda mad that Jennifer Aniston never really gets her comeuppance.

Spoiler
Actually she did, forced to now be Charlie's bitch.

And how was Colin off? I loved him.

I saw HPTDHP7.5 last week with the girlfriend and it was meh. I'd give it a 6/10. Just slightly above average. Then again I'm not a huge fan of the series and have not read the books either.

I saw X-Men: First Class and I'm sorry if I'm a minority, but the movie was meh. I liked Magneto and Banshee in the movie, but it was a bit long and it wasn't as good as the second X-Men movie. Overall, I'd give it a 6.5/10

Last movie I saw was the Last Lovecraft". I give it a solid 7.5 out of 10. It ws fun and had a real affection for the source material. They made up their own stuff, but that's how it goes.

Cry Baby Lane: 8/10

Yes, that legend about the unaired "Are You Afraid Of The Dark" movie is real. Well, to a point. The bootleg reached the web last week and I just watched it. After doing so, I have too wonder why parents complained over this. It's more of a really good comedy than horror, mainly any scene with the main character's meathead brother of that Kennith kid who works at the morgue. It's an interesting piece of my childhood I forgot about, glad I watched it. It's also just barely over an hour.

Definitely worth a watch.

Colin Farrell was basically just playing Tom Cruise from Tropic Thunder... and I didn't like that character either.

Spoiler
and you call that a punishment? The film sets up the whole time that Charlie is a moron. There is no way that character has the brain power to manipulate her like she did to him. It felt really unsatisfying.

And actually, I'm going to drop my 9/10 to 6/10. I think the reason I rated it so high in the beginning was because I got some nookie in the movie theater... and that makes any movie awesome.

I had to search that up only to find that I would end up saying "Oh you" like I originally thought. But now I'm curious as how that would go about.

Anyways, I watched Fade to Black. 6.5/10

What just happened? I mean, there was good acting and oddly enough Christopher Walken was actually playing seriously in an serious role, but for the rest of the movie, I was just like "what the fuck". It just felt a little empty. And there are movies that have emptiness to it, and are good. Like you're still wondering what happened and you're left with questions. But this one just wasn't that engaging.

Also I'm not sure if this is a "based on a true story" thing or a "we just slapped some random shit together for the concept" thing. But it's still an interesting idea, even if the presentation is a bit wonky. Rent it and then see for yourself.

30 minutes or less...

Wow, the critics were harsh on this one. I loved it. I had a bit of a problem with the Hispanic gangster if only because we've seen that many times before... and it's a little racist. Other than that, it's a fun movie.

9/10

Source Code - 6/10

Predictable as hell, but I had a lot of fun watching it. And of course, Michelle Monaghan

I saw it last night. Not 9 worthy to me but a solid 7.5 and it was for sure funny and would recommend it.

You know what, my friend told me he read a pretty good review that said "it was a great western... until aliens showed up." I kind of agree. I still liked it, but I have some questions that never got answered:

Spoiler
ok, maybe you can answer me this, why were the aliens taking the gold? I never got that. Was it because it was a commodity on their own planet? Did it power their ships? Did they eat it? Like, I have no clue. But let's brush that aside and focus on the good-guy alien woman and the fact that she was burned alive and came back. I didn't really understand the mechanic of that. So, is she flame retardant? Is she a spirit? Is she what Scientology is? Can she just manifest herself? And if so, why is it such a big deal that she dies again when the ship explodes? Can't she just beam back to earth and dust her hands and be like "welp, that's that. Lets go get a drink" and then the movie ends with a jumping freeze frame? Also, why were the aliens hypnotizing and taking people? Wouldn't it have been smarter of them to just lay low, harvest the gold, and try to leave quietly?

I'd probably go as low as 5/10... which to me, is an average movie that you maybe should see if you got nothing better to do.

There would be no movie otherwise.

Good movie, but the best part was that they had Marvel Super Heroes in the lobby.

Kind of a poor man's Shaun of the Dead except replace zombies with lovecraft monsters and repace Simon Pegg and Nick Frost with unlikeable annoying guys.

I've seen it many time before but;

Blade Runner: 9/10

God I love this movie. I've got the ultimate edition Blu-ray, so it's got every version of it known to man. But I wanted to start a discussion about it, but don't feel it'll last long enough to have it's own thread.

I was talking to a friend about some 'remakes' of old awesome movies that are coming out in the not too distant future.. Like, "The Thing" and "Blade Runner" ('The Thing' is supposed to be a prequel to the original, and 'Blade Runner' is being directed by Ridley Scott again, and they're trying to decide if it will be a sequel or prequel.)

Anyways, he started talking about Blade Runner, and said "In my opinion though, the acting wasn't too great in that movie." I had to verify 3 times we were talking about the same movie. And then had to let him know that I would take his opinions with a huge grain of salt in the future. lol. Am I nuts? Or Am I right in thinking the Acting in that movie was awesome, and this kid is dumb?
