The fee is probably for all the money lost with the consoles under warranty, that need to be fixed. So basically all of them.

All versions of SFIV use P2P for online gameplay. The lag you may or may not get in a match depends entirely on your connection as well as that of your opponent.
And no, the majority of those complaining about the online gameplay in SFIV are those that realize that input delays and slowdowns aren't good ways to compensate for lag in a fighting game.

I certainly feel I get my money's worth when I pay for Live but I don't have any delusions about one alternative being less prone to lag than the other. Pretty much all games on consoles lack dedicated servers, Live or not.

Seriously, think about something. 17-18 years ago, there were crowds around MKII. The very best players could spend all day on 25 to 50 cents. Now, clearly there were some downsides to that (which is the subject of a completely different rant), but I equate then vs now to poker vs Magic cards.

Everyone seems to forget that Sony charges the developers 16 cents for every GB of DLC that people download, while Microsoft does not because it is covered in the fee for Xbox Live. So for example if a free 1 GB demo is downloaded say a million times, they would have to pay Sony $160,000.

DLC can feel cheap at times, quickly slapped together and rushed out, other DLC is quite good and feels like an honest expansion pack to the game like some of the fallout 3 ones.



I dont feel bad about companies having to pay for people downloading their demos , for 1 that demo is going to sell their game making them far more money and 2 a company has a lot more money then I do.

DLC is great. I've downloaded so many bonus maps and skins for games over the years that I couldn't name them all. But you probably don't mean stuff like the extra plugins that Bethesda released for Morrowind, or the new maps that you can count on id to release for their games, or the thousands of player-created maps, models, skins, mods and campaigns that you can download for free.

You can still download stuff, watch movies, listen to music, download updates, and communicate with friends.
