I thought for sure LBP was one of them... Was uncharted 2 hard to get... I'm at 58 on uncharted 1 and was thinking about trying it get the rest...

It's only really annoying when you're doing Crushing mode, it's just annoying, especially since it was the last trophy I needed. There are some tedious ones though, like "get 200 kills with the minigun"

Not that I'm criticizing you or anything, I just really wonder what the appeal is. What do you get out of that? If it's annoying why not pick up a new, better game?

Not trying to convince you of anything I just honestly wonder what motivates you to get that 100%

Ok, I don't know if you mean to sound like this but this post really came off condescending. There's really no need for that here. Just because you don't like to complete all the trophies in a game doesn't mean you have to lip off someone who enjoys doing it. Please watch your tone. We're all friends here.

For me, it depends on the game if I want to 100% complete it or not. I know I'm still working away on 100% completing Fallout 3 (including all DLC) and I'm pretty close to getting all the achievements (sorry, have it for 360). I was able to do Batman: AA 100% in about two weeks. I really enjoyed the game which made it a lot of fun to try and get 100% on it.

Just to see if I can actually do it, it's a challenge and pretty satisfying when that "blip bloop" sound comes up and it says "Platinum trophy unlocked"

Considering the wording I used I really can't see how that could be construed as condescending. I think I was quite clear that I did not mean to pass any judgment but that I was just being interested in a side of gaming that I don't understand.

This does sound condescending to me for an example. Like I said, not sure if that's what you meant or not but from the tone that's what I gathered. I meant to add if it was not the intent then i apologize and please disregard my post as one of the problems with the internet is sometimes you can't really understand the tone a person is trying to convey like you would with spoken word.

Well, if you re-read that line I think you will find that I was actually saying that I'm a bit jealous of the platinum trophies.

The thing is that I don't really understand what drives people to get a 100% completion, but I was trying to communicate that I do think that having a platinum DOES look cool.

If that makes sense, anyway that was what I meant by that line.

Ok, well just ignore everything I've wrote about this then. Not trying to pick a fight or anything as I'm probably one of the last members of these forums that would go looking for one. However, I'm a person who thinks that every person deserves to be respected and am not a fan of people showing a lack of respect to myself and others. Just how I am. Anyways, moving on...

I think I might try for platinum on Uncharted 2 at some point as well. Was getting ready to start a hard playthrough when MW2 got released... and right now I'm in love with that game so it might be a little while before I come back to Uncharted... but I will because it truely was an amazing game.

I get what you mean by that

I just (finally) finished Uncharted (put the game away at around 70% playthrough) so I could start Uncharted 2 and it reminded me what a smooth experience it is

I think I put it down back then for inFamous which I still consider a gaming masterpiece btw, with that game I actually did do a little grinding, I got up to 70% completion trophy wise with that one. But after that the grind got a bit tedious for me even though I really love the shit out of that game.

At any rate, it looks like Uncharted 2 is quite gripping as well, so perhaps I'll change my opinion on the matter. Maybe I'll enjoy playing through it once more after I'm done on hard.

It is a bit easy on 'hard' still though, I'm a bit dissappointed that the 'crushing' mode is an unlock, I think I'd have enjoyed the game more if I could have it on my first playthrough since I'm not entirely convinced I'll start all over.

Still have to start in Brutal legend and borderlands, have to finish Batman:AA and Fallout3 and I also have my sizable retro-game collection to care for...

But then again, I'll see I suppose

I played and beat the first Uncharted 2 weeks before the release of the second as every PS3 owner told me I needed to play it. Now for the first 80% of the game I was totally amazed by it. Tons of fun and I really felt like I was playing an actio movie. However the quickly changed for me during the last say 4 or 5 chapters of the game. When those "cursed" things randomly appeared without explanation (I know it was explained later) it really through me off. Those enemies felt really out of place in the game and I wasn't a fan... plus they were mega annoying as 2 slashes from them could kill you and there always like 5-10 of them in a group. But the final thing that turned me right off from it was the final boss fight being all quicktime events... that was such a cop-out final battle in my mind. Soon as I beat it I traded it in as I had no desire to play it again due to the last few chapters. Thankfully everything I hated about the first game was taken out (including the aiming of grenades with the sixaxis which I didn't like) and totally expanded on everything I loved in the first game. The final boss fight was hard, but that's the way it should be! Currently Uncharted 2 is on my #1 or #2 game of the year.

inFAMOUs was probably the second game I truely fell in love with on the PS3 (first being MGS4). Such a great game and it blew Prototype out of the water (didn't really like Prototype). Beat the game as a good character on hard and started an evil playthrough which I need to finish. Too many games to play seems to be my problem and can't dedicate all my time to beating some. I have 69% of the trophies in it and I will probably get to about 90% before I quit. I have no interest in finding every blast shard. Way too tedious and I know it will ruin the game for me.

PS: I said this before but if anyone needs tips on how to beat the Batman challenge maps just let me know. I'm in the top 1000 on Rumble in the Jungle extreme leaderboards. I totally loved playing the challenge maps.

I do agree that the magic zombie thingies felt like a cop out.

On the other hand... unlimited MP-40 ammo + unlimited cursed bastards == fun for the whole family!

I do wonder about something else though, how do you completeists actually get 100% completion on your games? Do you use guides, do you just grind the fuck out of those games?

For instance I just played Uncharted 2 and because everything is so pretty I decided to stroll around and also look for treasures. When I was done I ended up with 35/100 Not very good

Same goes for game such as LBP, or other games where the 100% usually also involves collecting stuff.
