Ok, my friend just got a PS3 and it's really the first time I'm seeing it up close. So I'm looking around the PSN store and I'm like, hey let's try a demo of this arcade game. He tells me "I can't." I really thought he was kidding, but you just really couldn't. I know that I'm spoiled by Live, but this is pretty unacceptable.

I know for a fact that every live arcade game that is available for both systems has a demo, because you can download it on live. So my question is - What the fuck is Sony's problem with people playing a demo of a game they might want to buy?

It just kind of boggles me because I don't understand their reasoning.

*Note* This is not an anti-Sony, anti-PS3 rant thread. I don't hate Sony, and I don't hate the PS3. I'm just a man confused by what I thought was a seemingly "normal" procedure apparently gone wrong.

Most games that come out have a demo with them.
I think Sony just let the developers choose whether or not they want to make a demo available. It is kinda annoying though, especially when no reviews of the game can be found.

I know that most retail games that come out in stores have demos. What I meant was that games that are download only games don't have demos. That is just fudged.

The PSN is like a middle child: It only gets attention when it crys out for it.

The store could be improved tenfold if Sony just changed a couple of minor things and bulked it out a bit!

Needs some Fat Princess. Heck yeah.

In all seriousness, I don't really get mad about games that don't have a demo, but am pleased for the demos I can get.

I wish that the PSN store allowed you to search for new release demos, add ons, etc like Xbox Live. Hand.

Uh... you don't pay for the PSN. The only service you might have to pay for is Xbox Live.

Well I'm glad they at least have that. More than anything I'm just confused why they aren't taking their online stuff seriously at all. I mean I read something that said they were finally going to take their PS1 section seriously, but come on, why wasn't this a given from the start? It just seems like a big oversight for a company that won 2 console gens in a row.

Nah, PSN is pretty much as strong as Xbox Live now, though lately the free games have blown.

PS Now....that pretty much blows. But it's not dead.

The Vita...it's dead.

Small joke, buddy. I knew the PSN wasn't dead.
