I was going to make this topic anyway, but it's cool that there is a nintendo subforum.
So I've been recently replaying some of the classic zelda games and it reminded me how incredibly fun they are. Especialy OoT - awesomness on a stick. Any other fans of little boys dressed in green?

...that sounded awkward...

I am not afraid to say that I love that little boy in green...well...I still refuse to delete what I just typed.

I'm currently on the last dungeon in Link to the Past. I need to get the battery replaced in my Zelda 1 and 2 carts, because they don't save anymore. XD

Zelda games are always a good time.

My old zelda cartridges (1,2, and 3) still save fine to this day. 22 years and counting on zelda 1. Yet my cell phone can't last a week.

I have had issues in the past though where the catridge would get wiped if it got put in dirty and wouldn't load up.

I'll have to play around with it. It could be that I'm just having some problems with how I am saving and turning off the game. I love the quirks of the old school games. Not like how my 360 eats my games....

I'm getting my girlfriend involved in Zelda games. Starting off with A Link to the Past because I love that game to death then building up to bigger ones. I got her Phantom Hourglass for her birthday.

I was wondering about Wind Waker. There was quite some criticism on that game from what I remember. Is it realy not that great? Or are these just flames from fanboys who don't like the character design? I have to say this game got me more currious then Twilight Princess xD

I thought it was a great game. I originally wasn't a fan of cell shaded graphics, but it totally sold me on the whole concept. The gameplay was awesome, and I was completely invested in the storyline. You won't be upset if you decide to give it a go.

I was one of the few who welcomed the WW Link with open arms, and I still prefer him over the Adult Link. He's not bishonen and isn't a character who a lot of fangirls (and fanboys?) ogle over.
But really, I didn't understand what the fuss was all about.

As for, Windwaker, I thought it was a great game, but a particular part late in the game made me drop the game for a while. A couple weeks later I did return and beat it.

And it was satisfying.

Man, I love Zelda games. I get the itch to replay Link to the Past just about more than any other game. I'm annoyed that I still haven't gotten around to playing a few. The GBC and GBA ones slipped under the radar for me, and I've not been able to check out Twilight Princess or Phantom Hourglass yet. I might make that my next collecting "project".

This sums it up for me as well. My wife would tell you how upset I was once they first released images of the then upcoming game.

"What are they thinking?" "Ruining the series" "Little kids game"

I believe all of these comments came out of my mouth. However, I was PLEASANTLY surprised at the gameplay. This game captivated me and held my interest throughout the quest. The controls were not cumbersome, and it introduced a whole new element to the series. The main characters were involved, but there was a nice influx of new content.

I've beaten every zelda game and gotten every heart and item in every game. Zelda is my favorite video game series. Whenever a new one comes out, I always get it.

Some of you are talking about if Wind Waker is good or not. Personally, I think it's a great game. However, you need to have some patience. Don't go into it thinking you're going to whip through a bunch of dungeons, because the game just isn't like that. It's long, and it's an epic adventure. My only complaint with it is that there are never really any enemies that are very difficult to defeat. It could use some more challenge.

Ooo, I love Faxanadu, but I've never beaten it. That's going on the list.

The Legend of Zelda was my favorite game for many years and the first game I ever completed. I just completed Link to the Past for the first time....never owned a SNES growing up, but I've got one now, dammit! Ha!

Even the CDI games? Well, you probably meant every Zelda game that counts.

Anyway I'm a fan of the Legend of Zelda. My dad was the one who got me into the series as he played the NES version; however, the first one I played was OOT. I've played most of them, but really need to get around to beating LoZ 2. I played it for a little while on the Collector's disc but got stuck and moved on to Majora's Mask. Majora's Mask is probably my favorite Zelda as I liked how you weren't stuck as playing just as human Link. The transformations made the game more interesting.

Zelda 2 was probably one of the finest gaming moments when I was a kid. My dad refused to get me any more games until I beat the ones I had... which included Zelda 2. God, does that game get hard at the end! I tried picking it up a few weeks ago and I forgot how painful the walk to the final dungeon was!

I've hated Zelda forever. When I was a kid, my dad bought me Zelda and he said the other option was 'Dragon Warrior', which happened to be one of my favorite games at the time. I've hated Zelda ever since.
