I don't see how you could somehow "unget" the bitching. Although, honestly, this thread is specifically more aimed towards AAI2 and the future of the franchise, not so much all the badness Capcom has or hasn't done.

I didn't "unget" the bitching, I simply understood the botching over Capcom before it steamrolled into just hating Capcom for everything instead of their actual dick moves.

I don't hate Capcom so much as I'm thoroughly disappointed with them, despite how "logical" the decision is it's a decision that might fuck the franchise from here on out, which saddens me. Maybe I should be madder with the gaming community as a whole for not supporting it, but as it was pointed out the sales weren't THAT different from previous installations of the series, so it just sounds to me that they're hurting for money and can't give fans what they want. Which sucks dick.

Yeah, this news disappoints me but I get it.

It bugs me that there seems too be this sudden attitude on the internet that Capcom is Satan now. That's what I don't get. Oh, they've made some major dick moves, but at the same time, tons of the complaints are things that any game company would do. People just seem to be lost in rage or hate for the sake of hating now.

Capcom always tried to be a community based studio so if the bitching gets bad enough they may try and turn themselves around.

Back on point, even if Investigations 2 wouldn't make a large profit it still would sell enough to cover localisation costs. Even if it didn't do that, it's really hurting the brand to leave out an instalment as they would just cause people who were following the series to become disinterested.

This is the way I feel. It'd be like if we had Star Wars IV but never got V, and then got VI. This seems to be ridiculous with a lot of jRPG-esque games... Front Mission comes to mind for example, as well as the Growlanser series. This also happened with Cinq's Trace Memory Wii game, and Last Window never made it to the states either. It's really irksome to have story driven games be excluded, because it's a sure fire way to alienate your fanbase.

This also happened with Suikoden with Suikogaiden, where a number of times in Suikoden III - V they made references to the Suikogaiden visual novel thingy and I was like "Well, that'd be way more interesting if I had played it."

Not, to be on topic, I tried a demo of the first Investigations game via that Wii download thing, and it seemed pretty interesting. I loved how "basic logic" became a key concept (and everyone seemed so foreign to it XD). I know nothing more of the game outside of the demo, but it was looking pretty cool. I've played the first PW, and I loved it to hell. If I had the funds, I would have bought every release in the series. It's a shame to me seeing any PW game not localized, but it's not as popular as other series, even though it's loved all the same. I wish I knew anything about the game in question XD

except the stories of those games have nothing to do with each other nor do the characters/ so the US FF numbering oddity is moot

It's Engrished, so worse case scenario I guess I could try and play it.

Maybe not Engrish, but the text is still different from the localized American/European versions if I remember right.

there has to be like a fan-patch for this to make it in English, or something! I demand this game to be released in America! Investigations 1 was an awesome new idea!

Yeah.... the fact Shelley D. Killer is in this makes me so pissed it's not coming, that seems like... ULTRA IMPORTANT to any sort of continuity.
