In honour of the latest series of the Angry Video Game Nerd's videos I'm doing my own Castlevania marathon, where I play through all the CV games I can get my hands on, starting with CV1 and possibly ending with Symphony of the Night (since its the newest game in the series I own).

Wish me luck.

That's the newest that you own??? The PS2 ones aren't that expensive anymore... the GBA/DS ones aren't that hard to find either... and go scoop up DX Chronicles if you got a PSP... ^_^

Isn't PG doing the entire library of games, as well as a few ROM Hacks?

I decided to revisit this thread three months later to mention that I took out damn near every game in the library by mid-October, then sort of fizzled out. Only ones I didn't finish were Ecclesia and Judgment. The other really long ones were either finished via boss rush modes or alternate character modes (Maxim, Julius, etc). Pretty tough to do on a somewhat tight schedule. The toughest two were the ROM hacks, Chorus of Mysteries and Toccata of Pedophilia. ToP makes every last game in the series look like a lightweight. If you consider yourself a hardcore CV player, it will make you think you're a pussy, and there's little room to argue with it.

On that note, 2010 started with a bang before it even started, one-lifing Street Fighter 2010 by December 30. I plan to release a gameplay video sometime this year. Low quality, the man's way, off a video recorder pointed at the TV.

Other than that, I urge everybody to consider the backbreaking task of playing, often finishing games found in the bargain bin.

Doing this sucker again this year.

So far, I've finished:

Castlevania
Simon's Quest (complete, full run)
Castlevania III (with Alucard, full run)
Super Castlevania IV (full run)
Castlevania Chronicles (Original Mode, much more difficult)
Castlevania Bloodlines (Expert Mode with both characters)
Belmont's Revenge

More to come, more to go.
