Yeah on the most part. The first game I found there really wasn't that much of a difference between the good and evil side of things minus the ending and some plot points. The second game was very different based on your actions (especially the final boss). I played on hard on evil and it wasn't hard at all. The final boss was WAY easier than the good final boss.

I've only finished the first one on the good path. Been meaning to finish my evil play-through, maybe platinuming (is too a word) the game.

It really didn't take that long. I think it took me a week of playing irregularly to finish getting the platinum. Then again, the only trophies I had left were really just beating the game on hard and on evil so I didn't really have to do that many side missions.

I beat Rez tonight.

I have called the game a mix of Star Fox 64, atmosphere of Amplitude and the style of Tron. The experience of playing the game is rather enjoyable and something a gamer should at least try. It is very immersive and you feel drawn into this game rather quickly. However, it is more than an experience as it is a game as well. That part can get a little frustrating and somewhat difficult in the later levels, but the game help builds you up to it. I enjoyed the experience and I would recommend it to anybody who enjoys shooters, music games or just a different experience.

With that beaten, I now get to play some Odin Sphere. I am so excited for this game as it looks absolutely beautiful! I want to see all that this art has to offer!

So, last week, I bought Advent Children off of Amazon. It showed up this past week, but it was packaged with a copy of 'Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within', which I already have.

So, tonight, I went to this giant store where you can sell old movies, CDs, games and whatever else for cash or trade it in. I knew I wasn't going to get much, but I just didn't want it anymore. I went to this store because they had 'Turtles in Time' the last time I went there.

So, I went into the store and found out that they had sold 'Turtles in Time' already. However, I did exchange my movie and buy a game. I think it was a nice replacement for 'Turtles in Time'.

Instead, I bought Earthbound.

:omg:

Earthbound is one of my favorite games of all time. I've even undertaken the grind to get all 4 super weapons (on the snes not an emulator with super-speed). The writing, music, and character design, and general aesthetic are all amazing. Have fun man, welcome to moonside.

As a RPG fanatic and a game collector, I am super excited about this purchase. This was one of the big SNES RPG purchases that was missing from my collection and I am so glad I have it now. I had it before, but I didn't like it. But, I think I am more mature and ready to sink my teeth into this type of game.

$80.

I think that is a pretty good deal considering the cartridge alone goes for a couple hundred and any box or mint condition can cost you over a grand. It has a tiny little white out smudge on the label, but I can get that off. Besides that, it looks in very good condition.

Oh, I also purchased a game from my friend. I bought Altered Beast with the box for $5. We beat it in 30 minutes and he didn't want it anymore. He offered it to me and I bought it. Seemed worth it for only $5.

Beat Metal Gear Solid. Finished Metal Gear Solid. Definitely one of those games that I won't forget anytime soon. And I really had no problem with the length of the cutscenes, because I found the story to be very interesting. Loved the stealth gameplay and the boss fights were really amazing. Heck, after some of the death scenes of the bosses, you kinda feel bad for them (especially with

Spoiler
Sniper Wolf)

My only gripe had to be that the controls switching out after hiding behind a wall can make you fumble with Snake a bit and get you caught. But everything else was awesome and it ending on an amazing note with Metal Gear. Also, the ending cutscenes was a bit melodramatic with

Spoiler
Meryl dying, but Naomi's monologue and Snake's realization makes the scene more touching.

So yeah, I had an amazing experience and I'm ready to move on to Sons of Liberty on the HD Collection. I really can't wait to get started.

The cart alone is only about $100-$150. Complete copies are like $500. Not a grand.

$80 is not too bad. I was thinking that maybe you got some ludicrous price on it. I would have to hurt you if it was $30 or something.

The thing that's most annoying about Earthbound's price ... it's not that rare. People just hoard them.

Pretty much any "popular" SNES has seen huge markups in the last couple years. Rarity has little to do with it.

Super Mario World is super popular, but doesn't have a gloriously high price tag.

Earthbound is getting Panzer Dragoon Saga prices. Earthbound costs more than Popful Mail which is ridiculous.

Some McRetard has been trying to sell a "Sealed, VGA rated" copy of Earthbound for upwards of $3500 over the past few years. It started around $2K and to my knowledge has never actually sold.

I just looked, there is a second one that is $3800.

Look, that's all fine and fucking good but come on, really?

It'll change. Earthbound is just a bit of a hot commodity right now. Once everyone tries to dip into that honey pot to sell the game (goddamn resellers) they'll have to lower their asking price, because there'd just be so many.

I'm wondering if it would be cheaper to piece together your own copy.

VGA rated? Really? Who gives a shit? Put it in a museum or something. Video games are not retro cars. They're meant to be used. It's not like NOT using the game damages it less. The data integrity will still degrade regardless.

Not quite. I could sell my Panzer Dragoon Saga and still pick up two copies of Earthbound.

How many copies of Earthbound were produced? I know the final five Saturn games released by Sega (Burning Rangers, Shining Force III, Panzer Dragoon Saga) only had a production run of like 5,000 copies. Panzer Dragoon Saga had a second run of 5,000 after that.

I got a copy of Earthbound and Super Mario RPG for $80 each, all boxed up complete with manuals and whatnot. Pretty sweet deal, considering I had to drive up to Sac-town to get it.

I'm sorry, but technically we're talking the ridiculousness of ebay reseller prices of Earthbound (That's what I was commenting on anyway)
Prices in the wild are a complete wildcard. It entirely depends on where you are and who you're buying from.

And Earthbound had something like a 150K copy run. Nintendo was expecting it to be a somewhat successful title. (Maybe it would have done better if they bothered releasing the completed NES game)

Maybe they shouldn't have released it a month after Final Fantasy III and two months before Chrono Trigger. The console RPG market was still fairly niche and gamers were already bleed dry that summer.
