Resident Evil 6 should have starred Leon and Barry teaming up.

And I've been hearing great things about Revelations. A lot of people said that the game is a return to the formula and is actually scary. Now I really want this.

If only they would RE 1 remake with 2 and 3, I would be completely satisfied.

Barry is somewhere awesome. Being godlike.

Of this we can be sure.

Still have yet to pick up Revelations. It's one of the main reasons I bought a 3DS but I have a ton of video games to beat..... and an even ton more of Homework to catch up on.

Kawata said. "[Resident Evil's primary games] need to be an extension of the changes made in Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5.

"RE4 started in that direction, and RE5 kept going in that direction. And I think that especially for the North American market, we need to keep going in that direction, and take that a step further

Kawata says this shift in tone is because the once-popular survival horror genre can no longer compete in a marketplace dominated by the likes of Call of Duty.

we can still have the numbered titles keep their identity about what Resident Evil is supposed to be

I have just about lost all but the smallest shred of hope for RE6 from reading this interview, also all the talk of these games needing to be more action oriented and "keeping thier resident evil identity" makes me want to puke, this guy is a fucking clown and doesn't know the first thing about resident evil or what it is supposed to be - Call of evil : modern bioterorism warfare.

Glad somebody else read that... yeah. I'm just so fucking dissatisfied with just about everything that was said.

I beat the first part of Code Veronica and am now at Antarctica. I actually love this game and am having a great time and the story with Alfred and Alexia is just disturbing and awesome. The only problem I have is that they didn't use any of the improvements from RE 3 like dodging, weapon mixing, and aiming at explosive objects. I personally think that the PS1 games are better, but this one is still fantastic.

@RE 6 talk: I'm pretty sure Dead Space did really well, being both an action and survival horror game. I dunno, Leon's scenario has hope, but Chris' and the other guy's is just unnecessary. Honestly, if they made the entire trailer like the first 30 seconds, I would have been sold. After Resident Evil 5, they really have to do something amazing with their next console release for me to ever bother buying it. I might rent it for Leon's scenario.

I dont know, part of this looks like it could be good, weskers kid could be interesting if done right, but after 5 and after that last interview I posted and I really dont know what to think, I really hope they manage to pull something out of their ass and make this a decent game even if they stumble into it accidentally

there once was a time when I would have seen RE6 and started dry humping the couch in excitement, and now I have to try really really hard to care at all, such a shame since it is my all time favorite game franchise.

From some of the previews I read today the Leon sections actually sound pretty good and scary. The other segments for Chris and "Wesker's son" (which sounds dumb btw) sound like straight-up action. I'm still on the fence but the Leon parts are kind of swaying me.

Excited? No. Interested, yes. Leon's scenario looks good, but Chris and Wesker's son looks eh. Anyway, I'm glad to see Sherry back and the game looks like a pretty good time. Might rent it, and as long as Jill or Claire don't suddenly appear with blonde hair, I'll be alright with this.

And nice to see a virus being used again.

I'll probably rent this, and be pissed that Leon's scenario is pre-order DLC only.

I was surprised by how well Dead Space took the old RE formula and ran with it and made a pretty awesome game. Meanwhile the current RE game throws out the old formula in order to barrow from Call of Duty. What?

Didn't the team who did Dead Space get let go? Capcom pick them up and put them to work on making a good old school style RE game ASAP!

No, the Sydney studio closed not the entire Dead Space team. Not sure what they worked on though... my guess is the garbage multiplayer.

But Fox is right. Dead Space took the RE-type formula, had some well-paced action segments and scares/atmosphere and they're awesome games! I blame Capcom's greed on the fall of RE. Mark my words, their greed will be their downfall if they don't start to clean up their act.

Hey, plus side the Devil May Cry reboot looks like awesome fun. Might be the only Capcom game I for sure get this year.

If Visceral (studio that made Dead Space) wasn't an internal EA studio, they would be the best choice for a RE reboot.

Hey! Maybe they'll buy the RE franchise after Capcom goes under!

Oh btw, if Capcom keeps its money-grabbing-fuck-the-consumer ways people will eventually have enough and they'll go down. Calling it now. Just wait for RE6 to have DLC on disc... yours for $19.99!!

Seriously, fuck Capcom...

Dead Space's L4D lite > Socom with zombies

I think Capcom has been mishandling the series for a long time. Not happy with where it is and just attempting to action it up over and over.

-Light gun spin offs
-Hollywood action movie with zombies
-Team tactical shooter with zombies
-RE5
-DMC (which was suppose to be an RE game)
-Dead Rising (their other zombie game)

Like what the hell Capcom? Why can't you make a moody, slow but tense horror adventure title? Just because there are guns doesn't mean it has to be Call of Duty. Even Call of Duty has more actual survival horror in it than RE thanks to Nazi Zombies.

Don't you be bringing Dead Rising into this! I love those games!

Seriously though, at this point I'd just love for capacom to remake the first 2 Resident Evils or release Resident Evil 1.5. If they do it anything like the gamecube remakes, I'd be happy.

It's really funny how easy of a fucking cash grab it would be to remake RE2 or even port it to the DS or something. It's usually cited as everyone's favorite Resident Evil, so... why the fuck not just pull a Square Enix here guys? Seri-fucking-iously

Because they're Capcom. Not the brightest dudes in the room.
