Complainers are right, you guys REALLY don't like to talk about new games. Am I the only one who has been playing this game? It's 800 points on XBLA until mid-Nov, and then it's 1200 pts. I strongly recommend you buy it. It's got a really awesome retro vibe to it at times and is constantly paying homage to something, and it's masochistically addicting in terms of gameplay and difficulty.

Why is it XBLA exclusive :-( It's made by Behemoth right?

Nope. Not Behemoth, but it does reference a lot of Newground stuff, including things made by Behemoth. I think it's a "timed exclusive" and will be available on other platforms eventually. Ultimately though, I'm not gonna lie, 360 > Everything Else for downloadable titles. PS3 has very few things worth caring about that are exclusive to it, same with Wii, but the 360 seems to get everything.

Note: I'm speaking about games not virtual console/psx/xbox ports.

It's not. It's coming out on PC and WiiWare in November. Chances are MS signed some deal with them including this special price thing.

I want to play it ... but I'm not playing it on a 360.

Any particular reasoning why? /boggle

Anyways, the price idea was their own, because they wanted to have a sale on it for x-mas, but didn't want to fuck over early adopters. More companies should use this "buy when it comes out, get it cheaper" concept for downloadable stuff. Too many people (myself included) seem to hold out on games for when it's a Deal of the Week.

Reason(s):
Because I don't support Microsoft. Therefore I do not own a 360 or Xbox (Well I'd accept one for free, or I might buy one used someday, but I'm not going to financially support them). I do not pay for Windows (I don't rip it). In situations where I HAVE to have a Windows install, I have plenty of legal and legitimate licenses for various versions.

I recognize most people don't care and might even think I'm being elitist (I'm really not) about the situation, but this involves my field of study and I really don't agree with any of their practices and the negative impact they have on the technology industry as a whole (not saying Apple would do a better job either it'd be, arguably worse, if they were dominant). So, I don't support them ... and I don't expect anyone to agree or understand.

I don't want anyone to assume that I judge them or anything either. Because I don't, I understand people's comfort level with Windows ... however it doesn't mean I wouldn't advocate alternatives.

Moving on?

They sent builds to both Microsoft and Sony, but it sounds like Sony never showed much interest or responded too late.

To be honest if you're gonna buy the game it's best to get it on either the 360 or PC. The 360 has exclusive free downloadable levels, while the PC will get the guy from Minecraft as an extra character and a level editor.

All the unlockable characters aren't really newgrounds only stuff, but more just indie gaming in general. It's basically indie all stars.

I understand, and that's cool, you've got a stronger willpower than most people.

Yeah, I think Sony dropped the ball on this, but once again, Sony fucking sucks because it's still an Asian based company. I don't think they truly understand how awesome downloadable titles are and how much money they're raking in. I mean it took them HOW long to get Castle Crashers?

Castle Crashers still isn't in the EU PSN.
I think their marketing is just poor, Calling all Cars is a very fun MP game but it was released during a time when they just didn't promote anything on PSN. As a result it's servers died a few months ago. Pixeljunk games, Joe Danger, Flower and Warhawk are other examples. They just do jack shit to let you know about them.

I might get it on WiiWare, but if a PS3 port is announced by then I'll hold out for that. I'd just end up playing it more if I had instant access to it.

Think I might pick it up. The price is right. I've for sure become one of those guys who waits until a game goes on sale on XBLA before picking it up unless it's something I need to have.

This game has to be the absolute best bang for your buck as far as original XBLA games go. There are over 300 levels, and free downloadable worlds one of which has already been released. I'm working on a review of this right now actually and needless to say it will be extremely positive.

Link, have you reached the IWBTG warp zone yet? the difficulty ramps up something fierce in that level. I still can't get past the second of three stages. It's going to be a while before I get to play with the kid from IWBTG.

I haven't. Honestly, I'm having difficulty with fucking Minus World in World 1, so, I can only imagine the pain. I also hear that Cotton Valley (the Bandage Girl world) is even more ruthless.

Ah, that makes sense.

It's perfectly possible that PSN's lack of support in the digital arena could be due to their obtuse online thought process. But, honestly we can't be entirely sure if it's Sony or the developers (such as in the case of Castle Crashers) that stops the games from coming out or taking forever. It's likely a combination of both, since there's plenty of titles that launch on both, or more, online platforms simultaneously.

Oh no. I haven't found that warp zone yet. Now I'm afraid. I really thought it couldn't get any harder than the IWBTG warp, which I still can't fucking beat.

Each World has a Minus World, occasionally Bandage Girl will be spinning around and glowing yellow and looking all weird, if you get her the game "glitches" and you unlock Minus World. It's difficult because, at least for World 1, you have the fucking 3 life limit per stage.

Love this game. At first when I died, I'd laugh. "Ha! I exploded cause I'm a Meat-wad!" then. . . It got ugly. . . THere was cussing, and Domestic Violence. I beat it like I beat my children. . . i have no kids

Does The Guy have any advantage besides the double jump? I just don't see any point in unlocking him since I'm pretty good with Flywrench, Jill and Gish.

Also, if people haven't caught on, each world intro is an homage to an old retro Intro.
