How about a Roundtable Video Game Discussion Show?

See, one thing The Game Heroes has over most gaming websites is its multiple personalities. For example, you click on an Angry Joe video and you are just going to get Angry Joe. You click on Jew Wario and you get...Jew Wario. What separates The Game Heroes is they have many different people under one branch. But, usually they are in different places. Camera Man Joe does his 5 Minutes to Burn. Classy Man does his reviews. Tom, Jason and Birdman do the Prototype. And I know they come together for the Podcast, but what about other shows with Multiple Personalities all together? Have everybody sit around a table. Somebody whips out a completely random game and everybody discusses it for a few minutes. The discussion can lead anywhere from past experiences, stories about the game or even comparing it to other games. It's more than the 30 second quips you see them refer to it on other videos, but an actual in depth discussion about that specific game. Or hell, it could even inspire the guys to play it on camera...

Or how about different partners? Retroware TV seems right up The Game Heroes alley with many different unique personalities. The Game Chasers are in The Game Heroes backyard of Dallas, so they could get together easily to hunt for video games. They have a passionate retro fanbase that is usually not as pseudo intellectual hipster elitist that is on BlisteredThumbs. But, they could send some reviews or Top 10's Retroware way that could get more exposure.

You could always film you guys playing games against the community. Challenging somebody to a fighting game and recording it is not that difficult.

I think each website has its own niche that no other website brings. If The Game Heroes focus on what they do well, I think the site could grow in leaps and bounds. Don't be something it is not. Just do what you guys do well.

What I'd be most happy to see and what I feel would increase a lot of traffic to the sight is just 'More.' More reviews on recent games would be awesome as well. It seems like a lot of what we're getting is stuff that can be done quickly, without a whole lot of preparation. That stuff is great, don't get me wrong, but I think it's really only great when accompanied by regularly released full scale items. Weekly reviews on a game from one of the current gen consoles, more old school reviews, features on different Items from Tom's gaming collection.

If we get more of that added on to what you guys are already putting out, I think that would be all that people want and need. I think we all know you have full time jobs and what not, but I can't really take that into consideration when making a post like this, you asked what I'd want to see.

I've been here on and off for many years. And I have to admit, the site has gone through a serious decline. The remember when it first started it was full of a lot of the guys from SA and several other sites. GH was pretty frickin amazing at first due to all of the people and guys that were helping out but now the only ones I can really remember now are Tom and Classy man. I know Mickey is still alive but it seems he's dealing with personal issues now so I understand (though I'd like to see him back). College life has really kept me away from actively participating in the site, but I guess I'd like to see more of the following:

-Tom doing old school game reviews again (8-64 bit games). Maybe every week if possible? I remember you did a few when the site launched and I enjoyed them.
-More crazy shit. When I visited SA I loved how you all did completely insane things. Punch each other in the nuts, burning stuff, going to game launches, etc. I loved it. SA is obviously more business oriented now (which I hate) but I feel that Tom & the gang can make some crazy stuff. The "adults only" videos I'm assuming probably fit more in this category.
-Acknowledge that site exists again. When I came back here before Magfest, this place was a ghost town. Perhaps affiliate to bigger sites or be a guest to podcasts and shows to other sites. I know Tom appeared in the one TGWTG thing, but I think Retroware.tv would probably be a good start. I feel TGWTG is too crowded as this point.
-Drop the weekly news videos. I know this has somehow became a stable in the site, but I don't really like them. I'd favor anything I've listed above instead of these videos.

So, yeah! There ya go. I'm going to the University of Baltimore in the Fall, but I'll try my hardest to keep peeking in here whenever I get the chance. Godspeed, Game Heroes staff!

Man if this place comes back to life I might come back more often.

For me, this site was at its zenith when a bunch of us were playing Minecraft together. Even though everyone got burned out, those were great times and I wish there was a way to recreate that energy and sense of community.

I used to visit the website a lot in its heyday especially when it was first launched. It was great lots of fun videos that came out and the earlier GH podcasts were awesome even the Ultra podcast. There was so much excitement. But then I stopped coming. I pop into this site every now and then to check out how it's been. Largely its been about the same when I stopped coming back. One thing that always bugged me about this site and what stopped me from coming is the consistency and frequency of features/videos being put out. Either it was always late because mickey was still editing the podcast or he just forgot. Features I missed like CGR are few and far in between or never posted anymore. Thread of the week came and went, forum statements were fun and i'm glad it was killed off earlier but it ran aground. The main podcast that was posted weekly is now monthly to allow more content to be produced and for the main podcast to be of better quality. After the departures of mickey and ATMTG the podcast seemed to take a nose dive, it seems more rushed and thrown together than before. There seems to be not much interest in it anymore if the thread discussions are indicative of it. Maybe its better now than when I last visited, correct me if I'm wrong. I know that they have lives beyond this site and other personal things but they represent this website and the products/features they put out. I honestly thought this site would be bigger than it is now from when they first launched.

Tom, if you read this; I'm not sure if you're too familiar with Reddit. But you should consider posting links to your videos there.

Well, I am going to respond to this in most civilized way possible.

A)The gun was given freely by Project TriForce for review- I did not pay for it. I am a journalist who receives items from companies for review and that is how it works. I have never paid for an item that I have reviewed outside of items in my personal collection. I have done this for 4+ years as such companies send me material all the time.

B) I am sorry that terrible things have happened to my family and I have to look after them. I do not what you expect of me in this capacity.

C) I did not set up a Paypal link for myself and that was done by Link. The other paypal link was a children's charity and 100% of the money went to them.

I haven't been visiting The Game Heroes site as often as I used to but one reason for that is that I typically catch all the videos they post on their Youtube channel. The weekly news is a great, quick segment that I enjoy watching weekly. I also like Sketch Master a lot as well.

If I had any other feedback it would be this: focus more on the monthly Game Heroes podcast. In my opinion the site began to stray once the focus shifted from this podcast to producing other content. As others have mentioned already here, the podcast isn't what it used to be. Other content like the weekly news, sketch master, prototype, etc. should be secondary to this main podcast. I mean it's named after site for a reason, right?

If you want to be a bit forward thinking, a really easy change would be to update the RSS feed format. Currently, there's some intro-information then a link to the website ... but ... if you're like me, you actually have this feed watched on a device that isn't your computer, like a tablet. One of the nicest things is getting full RSS articles. It's almost like reading a magazine. It's very nice when it's done well. Right now the game heroes one is OK, basic information and posts are shown, but it could be a lot better, and one really easy change would be to include the actual article, not just a little intro sentence.

I can take a picture of the device with some examples if it helps. The upside is the actual formatting is taken care of automatically, all that's missing is the content.

We were just talking about that, loved that segment....minus the spoiler..lol I would set up camera then go somewhere else so I would not hear.
