So all last night, I stayed up doing research for Magfest. Last year, I saw the Magfest 9 (See thread here: http://www.thegameheroes.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=9531%20) thread had a bit of attention (and some of you attended!) Though I'm sort of shocked to see that nobody has even made a thread yet and Magfest X is in little over a week!

So who all is planning to go? This will be my first Magfest. I really, really want to get a room and stay Thursday-Saturday, but I might just drop in and only go Saturday and leave that night. Sadly, a lot of my potential roomies became non responsive or bailed out me this week. I know the other site that I won't mention will be there, but I haven't been checked them out in years, but my original interest in Magfest hit back in 2007 (or 8?) wanting to see the Nerd and Handsome Tom.

This year, I want to see the Nerd and I'm looking to my favorite gaming band, The Minibosses, who will be performing Saturday night as well!

But yeah, it seems really cool and I can't wait to check it out! :-D

Whoa! A response from the Handsome one himself, I feel honored! Yeah, I browsed around the site and I didn't see anything so I figured. I haven't kept up with GH community in recent months, but do you guys still go to anything around the east coast?

I'll be busy on my honeymoon, otherwise I totally planned on going. So sad I'm missing out on Uematsu.

Yeah, I never was too into the guy's music. He was at Otakon too and I forgot about him (then again Otakon is pure insanity). I'll have to see if I get in when they play! =)

I'll represent the Game Heroes... in spiritttttt

I'll have my iPod Touch on hand so if they aren't crabby about taking video (like those Otakon creeps), then I'll get some footage of some of the shows... and other things. Look forward to it! :-)

Magfest is currently underway now! I won't be there until Saturday morning but the facebook page announced two days ago that they are using the Guidebook app for maps/schedules (which is VERY handy, especially if something gets cancelled/delayed). I browsed through and I'm pretty sure I'm attending the following:

4:50 PM
The Minibosses

6:00
James Rolfe/AVGN Q&A

10:30 PM
Earthbound Papas

May check out a few other things on the side but I'm not sure yet. Anyone else if they will be going?

I don't mean to keep reviving this thread, but I went ahead and made a blog post about my time at Magfest over the weekend. Long story short, it was awesome.

http://ssj-chris.blogspot.com/2012/01/magfest-x.html

Also made two videos, one of just my general reaction and another with me touring the arcade room.

I'll be honest, I'm surprised at the general lack of people giving a crap about MAGfest considering so many awesome people go there, then again I think we have the same results when it comes to PAX and other big conventions like Otakon, etc. It's always just like one dude (usually somebody who has a pretty low post count, not that there's anything wrong with that) and other people (like me) saying "Man, wish I could go!"

Yeah, man. I understand. It seems the forums here are slowly becoming more and more empty. I've been in and out for years due to college but it's kind of upsetting. Comparing this to the Magfest 9 thread here (that had like 3902842309 pages) and then I had to bring it up a week before it happened which is crazy.

I think it was a big deal in previous magfests because actual staff members were going to the event, like Mike Dodd, etc.
