Hey everyone! We are making changes to make the Prototype better! Starting next show the week of Feb 19. We will be cutting out news, and the guys will be bringing up topics we want to talk about. This will stream line the show. Any other suggestions on how to make it better please let us know here!

1) Start a Prototype Retro Game Club. Each month pick a classic game to feature. Give some background history on it and give some strategies. Have all of the hosts play said game and share their experiences. Encourage listeners to play the game as well and call in and share their thoughts on the game.

2) Speed debates. Is smartphone gaming the future? Has Call of Duty gotten stale? Will the Wii U fail? Are online passes just another way to nickle and dime consumers? Randomly select someone to argue for and someone to argue against each topic. 60 seconds to make your case. Third host or guest is the judge and decides who put forth the best argument.

3) Pick of the week. Have each host select one item (game, movie, book, whatever) to recommend.

This. Have a running thread in the forums to go along with it. Announce the game one podcast then have someone in charge of running the thread, guiding the conversation, etc. Like Together Retro on Racketboy or Game Club on RebelFM. Have set checkpoints for certain times and everyone can play up to that point then bullshit about it.

I completely agree with the 'Prototype Retro Game Club' and would love to see it incorporated into the forums. An idea would be to announce the game for the next week which would give people time to play it and they could call in or comment on the game in a designed thread. That way, when they record the show, they can incorporate the community into the podcast to give a different perception.

A different idea would be to do more obscure topics. I understand that they almost have to do a show on E3, a new console or whatever big game is coming out. However, I look forward to the topics that aren't buried into the ground on other websites. For example, the Prototype about overlooked fighting games was a great topic along with the one on video game music. The ones that go beyond the surface and dig deep into the genre.

A small side note: Could we keep the rampant fanboyism to a somewhat minimum? I know Mike prefers Playstation and Tom/Jason prefer Xbox, but does it have to be so obvious? It gets rather annoying after a while and I rather dislike the show when it appears that the three of them are arguing pretty heatedly with one another.

I love the show as it is easy to listen to while I work. The news was interesting, but I really enjoy the topics and 'What is everybody playing?' segment at the beginning. Hopefully, the changes will be much better and improves the show greatly!

I suggest trying to promote this website with the podcast. I find Mike is pumping the tires of Blistered Thumbs way too much on the Prototype when you guys should really be trying to draw traffic to thegameheroes.com. Mike I know you do a lot of work for BT but I think maybe for this podcast try to focus on promoting the Gameheroes instead.

Also, maybe do a quick preview of what content's coming this week to the website. That way listeners will know what's coming and when to come back and check it all out.
