Best Buy has better prices than FYE, seriously, fuck that place.

FYE is still around? Ours closed forever ago. They never dropped their prices on anything.

We still have one in Pittsburgh too. Although I never go there... although once I somehow could use my Media Play card at an FYE. My mind was blown.

yea if I am remembering right the 2 were in cahoots for a while near the end, then for a while after media play closed if you tried to go to their website it would tell you that they were closed down but you should go check out FYE.... I really miss media play a lot, that was my favorite store for years.

The only thing I hate about Best Buy and a few groceries stores I visit are the checkout clerks consistently asking me to apply for their savings programs. It's nice that programs like that are there, but if I want to save I'll ask about it.

This is pretty much why I use an Amazon credit card. I buy shit wherever I want and then every 500 bucks or so I get a 25 dollar coupon for Amazon so I can buy pretty much anything I want from there.

Most rewards programs are ass. Media Play is the only one I ever really enjoyed.

The only rewards program I'm with is with HMV pure. You get points per penny you spend and you get to redeem points for stuff you can't buy in store.

I uh...only signed up to help out a special friend make a target :shy:

Yeah, I would too if I enjoyed paying $30 for dvds.

One positive thing about Best Buy is that you can buy phones from them without having to deal with bullshit rebates. Sprint makes me pay full price for a phone, then wait (at least) a month for a mail-in rebate where as Best Buy just eats the rebate for you and give you the discounted price.

Sure they've moved some things around lately here too, but it's still not hard to find what you're looking for. It's just like any other big box store.

Granted Suncoast was a little pricey at times, but I remember they had a good rewards set up that I'd build up a good number of coupons fast which made it worth shopping there.I just miss the selection; particularly from Kim's which not only had good foreign sections, but also non region 1 dvds. Its how I was able to get Spaced four years before we got it here and with all of the original music still in place. The other sweet thing about Kim's was they're organizational setup; along with the usual horror, comedy, action, drama etc they had an Auteur section which made it easy to hunt down multiple movies by the same director.

Suncoast was never cheap but they were the only game in town that actually had an entire section just for anime in the early to mid 90s. They also had a great horror movie section with a bunch of cult stuff that likely will never get a dvd release. They did start offering some deals on stuff late in the game but they closed up pretty soon after that so maybe it was a fire sale.

I'll be honest, when Suncoast WAS here, BestBuy was far superior.

However, it's not like Suncoast really went anywhere, it got absorbed into F.Y.E. Which is a horrible, terrible, place ... so old customers should feel nostalgic :p

If it did then there's no sign of Suncoast left there.
