It depends if the patent explicitly mentions kinect (or kinect like interface). If it does ... then other people wouldn't be able to patent the technique since it applies to Kinect; and even if they did for a generic use ... doing something like this could easily be argued as a next natural step wit...

I would agree ... if the same sources weren't also saying it's already implemented in Xbox One ... It might be BS, it might not. Keep in mind Sony immediately clarified that patent when it emerged. Explaining that it will not be used by SCE (and was even possible on PS3) but is there if third partie...

Oh man ... my original post was going to add that "Until they force that user base to follow them kicking and screaming" ... but I took it out to not seem overtly negative. I guess I'm not the only person who sees it that way. :D

The new Daft Punk album is on its way to my house ... so I'll be listening to that soon. (Coming with Lunar on PSP woo)

I doubt they'll put that out when the console comes out ... but if it becomes popular, I bet we'll see it implemented in various ways.

Wow. That last one. Maybe the Xbox One will be a huge success since it seems it's doing exactly what every music, movie, and game publisher has wanted for the last ten years.

I imagine it won't be implemented yet, but that is a very disturbing line of thought.

People tell me to overclock this, boost memory that and I'm thinking...yeah...why? Dark Souls looked sweet, BL2 looks sweet, Just Cause 2 looks REALLY sweet. Not to mention that overclocking generally gives rather pitiful returns. If you already have a graphics card that's super clocked, or somethi...

Don't forget that this is Microsoft we're talking about here. Abandoning user bases is something they excel at.

That reminds me, one thing that's really nice about the Wii U ... it plays Wii games better than the Wii. It upscales the image (not the same as rendering higher) to 1080P, which is nice, so your TV isn't doing it. It also allows for proper scanmodes which the Wii almost never allowed be...

PC gaming has always had a bit lower cost of ownership. That's not a new thing. And Now, there's support for things like BillMeLater on various component sites, so you could potentially space out the price over at least 6 months without being charged anything extra, but you get the parts now ... it'...

It kind of sounded like that TV stuff would be Comcast only. Maybe with a couple other providers. A really big problem that HTPC users have had to deal with for a really long time is you still have to use the TV providers hardware because they refuse to license out their decoding hardware. So you're...

I watched it ... what a joke.

This kind of adds to the thinking I've had for a long time which is Xbox isn't really for people who play video games.

Man, a complete re-imagining of Resident Evil could probably be amazing. It's also an opportunity to take that massive nonsensical convoluted story over the games and turn it into something comprehensible.

However ... I'm tired of reboots :| How about we just make a good sequel?

Focus Testing should die a horrible death. Just like metacritic.

Actually, no. But corporate structures put so much emphasis on these metrics because they're the only ones they really have. God forbid they just talk to their audience.
It's not a video games exclusive problem.

All I'm saying is we live in an era of sensationalism and misconstrued bias bleeding into the realm that people accept as fact ... and before you take sides based on what you think about the external image of something, you should get to know it first and make your own opinion instead of just accept...

News to me.

Personally I was just like, "this guy's a troll" when I read it. What he's saying is just not true. If you haven't read the full comments, he goes into a rant about how the Wii U is weaker than the 360 by a mile, which is nonsense. I think it's just reflective of a larger culture at EA. Th...

Oh ... using water insulation would make a lot of sense. But so would building into the ground. It would take so long to change the atmosphere ... it would make sense to build colonies with their own atmosphere first. The numbers I heard were measured in centuries! The best idea I heard was create a...

I understand ... it just says "never", so I didn't know if you weren't aware or weren't including them because of a technicality, I just wanted to point out they are available. I didn't even realize that many previously import only titles were actually released, to be honest. Rondo kind of...

Still not clear on this whole not freezing to death thing that doesn't seem to be solved ... Also ... after they do this and the funding gets cut ... that's a lot of people who're going to die of starvation or suffocation. Honestly, though ... going about it this way is just going to create more soc...
